"This stack here is all self-released 7-inches from regional bands I traded merch with on tour. They’re all very hard to come by unless you know any of the band members personally and then it’s easy because they’ve got boxes of this shit that they don’t have the heart to throw away."

Buried our drummer today. R.I.P. Larry Shelast.

Noize To Go 01.08.2020

It is with unbearably heavy hearts that we have to let you all know that our brother, and drummer Larry Shelast passed away Wednesday November 6 of an apparent ...heart attack. This loss is incalculable for Larry’s family and Jr Gone Wild, and we are so sorry to have to bring this terrible news to all of you. Details on paying respects are forthcoming. In 1991 Jr Gone Wild were in search of a drummer. We placed an ad in the music stores and Larry Shelast gave me a call. His first show with us was on July 31, 1991 at the Commonwealth Stadium, playing in front of 55,000 people when we played halftime at the Argonauts/Eskimos game. From there it was relentless touring and writing and recording... for years. Larry was the missing piece in Jr’s quest to fuse punk and country. We were after authenticity with attitude, and Larry was born for it. He knew what to straighten out, and what to leave jaggedy. He made Dove a better bass player, and he made the rest of us the best band we ever were. Larry had a cantankerous exterior, offset by a compassionate and caring interior. Always professional. Took care of his gear. Loved his band. He was great to all our kids. He loved playing live with Jr Gone Wild (and a significant chunk of Edmontons underground roots scene) for all of you. I wish we could do it again...

We're celebrating 6 years of Noize-To-Go in Chinatown by going to see DOA at the WISE Hall on Sat. Sept. 21. We're selling tickets to this absolutely stacked punk rock lineup for only $22. It's been a pleasure to serve everyone, long time customers, new friends, visitors to town, and all music lovers, city-wide and right here in Strathcona. The attached photo of historic Union Street, circa 1971, has a red arrow indicating our current location, half-block east of Main. www.facebook.com/events/463291271191091
