The Maamowiijidiwag Initiative has come to an end! Maamowiijidiwag means They come together, meet with each other and that is what this programme has aimed to do over the last several months: give us a way to come together when we are socially distant and staying apart. We shared talks with Elders, hosted fitness classes, cooked and baked together, learned about ice fishing safety, went on virtual art gallery tours, and more during this initiative. It’s still too soon to b...e going back to fully-in-person events, but we can look forward to that together. Nokiiwin will continue to provide virtual programming and continue to encourage you to keep wearing your mask and to get vaccinated, so we can all get back to normal. Check out this PSA all about vaccination to find out more: https://nokiiwin.live/psa Miigwetch!! Miigwetch to everyone who made the Maamowiijidiwag Initiative so successful. We’ll be back with more virtual content! Follow us here or sign up for our newsletter at: https://nokiiwin.live/eNews-sign

Why should you attend Nokiiwin’s Virtual Training Week? At Nokiiwin, we’ve been lucky to have experienced, knowledgeable managers to oversee our programs, and we’ve had access to additional training and learning opportunities to build our capacity among our staff and partners. We want to pass that capacity to our communities, and we invite you to come learn with us at this incredible online event. Our Education, Technical Services, Community Development, and Access to Justice... departments have prepared a week-long knowledge sharing event, including Ojibwe language, Certificate training, and health and wellness information. Our community members have a full week to register before we open up our courses to the general public. Space is limited for some sessions, so we encourage to register now to ensure you have a seat at our online table! Go to nokiiwin.live/pathforward today. Miigwetch, and we look forward to seeing you there! See more
