New mothers are often told that once they've fed, burped, and changed their baby they should leave them alone to self-soothe if they cry because all of their ne...eds have been met. One day I hope all new mothers will smile confidently and say, I gave birth to a baby, not just a digestive system. My baby has a brain that needs to learn trust and a heart that needs love. I will meet all of my baby's needs, physical, mental, and emotional, and I'll respond to every cry because crying is communication, not manipulation. -L.R.Knost Peaceful Parenting Resources: https://t.co/T8goym3P6Z Please respect the work of authors, photographers, and artists. We are Strong. We are Resilient. We are Latched. Strength in our determination to our healing, our wellness, our communities, our culture, and in decolonizati...on. Resilient to (re)learn, to continue, against taboos & stigmas, to exist, and to persist. Latched in our ancestral memory in body, mind, and spirit, to the land, to our foundations, to our resolve for health, to our families and communities’ future. Join us for the second annual Native Breastfeeding Week held August 9-15! Programming includes daily sunrise honor songs, support circles, social media challenges, a T-shirt fundraiser, a virtual 5K Run/Walk/Move, webinars, and the first annual Indigenous Breastfeeding Counselor Awards! More details to come! #NativeBreastfeedingWeek #StrongResilientLatched
