I’ll bet you have never seen this one!!! This is under the category of strange news. We had a horse colic last week. He did not present with classic symptoms, ...but we saw the signs. The vet was called and the horse had a displaced colon which is never a good situation. He was never overly uncomfortable acting and it was treated medically rather than surgically. Our barn family pitched in to help out for the multiple days vigil. When one of the group was checking on him, they found that all important and celebrated pile of poop in the stall except it had a strange foreign object in it. It was a piece of a Himalayan salt block about 3x2x2. These creatures choke on their tiny food pellets!! How in the world did he swallow it??? And pass it all the way through that fragile digestive system??? After he passed it, his colon returned to normal and all was well (I added pictures of the cleaned up chunk)
