We are looking for a stable hand for 5 days a week (30-40 hours per week). Competitive pay. Lots of handling of horses of all ages, since we are a small training, boarding, breeding and sales facility. Horse experience is a must and must have reliable vehicle and cellphone. Please send resumes to [email protected] Text/call 14038138337 Or send us a message on here!
And two more amazing artworks by Renee Gould - check out her instagram (@renee.e.gould) and web page for some incredible images. Schatzi always wanted to be a model.... https://www.reneegould.ca
This is so important to read. We have been using slow feed nets for the indoor horses since we opened and it has truly made a difference. None of our horses (indoor or outdoor) are without hay for 4+ hours. The health and happiness of our horses is our number one priority.
Wow! Anyone recognize the feisty fellow! Renee really captured what he's all about!!
#ibredthischallenge Saxon NF, Schatzi, cheeky, sassy, dressage-loving, speed record-setting hunter, jumping-bean pretty boy by Schwarzenegger out of our Hann. JBP mare Accordance (Acord II x Grannus). Always the first to greet you, last to leave you, always a character. Miss him tons (and tonnes) but hope he's thriving south of the border!
Narvik NF showing us his lovely trot. Can’t wait for this 3 year old to get going undersaddle this year!

So.... it appears the mares react to a new round bale much the same as airliine passengers do to the drinks trolley .... the new bale is here! the new bale is here! A few of the more pregnant ones to appear to have swallowed the last one whole however....
Cordelia NF is coming along! I love teaching them what contact is and I’m very happy with Deliah’s babies and how trainable they can be. (2017 Chacoon Blue x Mr Blue x Come On)
Sorry, couldn't resist....
#foal_to_adult_challenge Schatzi miss this beautiful little brat

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!
Glad we don't have more vehicles as we'd still be out there getting more of them stuck ....
#drop_your_beautiful_horse_head_challenge our beautiful Levitate NF (Lordanos x Escudo I).
Great tribute to Don VHP!! Our Cassini II mare Saga is in foal (fingers crossed) to this amazing guy. What's also super cool, is that Deliah's half-brother Baileys was also on the FEI Nation's Cup Final team with Don VHP. Baileys and Deliah are out of Ottawa (Come On x Libero H). Getting excited for these bloodlines!
It’s hard to believe he is only our second ever foal for Nordic Farms, it makes us very excited for the next couple of years with the prospects we have! Might let some of them find new homes ... Message us with what you are looking for.
Soooooo..... a couple weeks ago (while motorcycles were zooming around) I wondered if we'd even have a white Christmas. Careful what you wish for! And it's not over yet! So far all the critters are good and most of the vehicles unstuck!
Around the farm we absolutely love the sunrise and sunset shots we get out here.
Early mornings are at least quite pretty
Cute just keeps getting cuter! Leif spent a few nights in cuz he's little and adorable and we're big softies .... and he's just as cute at 6 months as he was at 6 hours ....
The two unlikeliest besties on the property - gigantor Eli and wee Leif - but they are devoted to each other. Eli offers affection, support and friendship in the feisty "brodeo" band. They adore each other and we adore them! Eli (Chacfly x Lupicor) and Leif (Lordanos x Escudo).
The internet is a warren of rabbit holes I can't resist falling into... and well, horses. And we love horses and pedigrees, and I came across this gem of our Tigger's dam's dam's dam's sire Candi's Gold, a TB who ran in the Kentucky Derby and had the bad luck of being up against legendary Alysheba who won 2 lengths of the Triple Crown. Candi's Gold ended up producing some extremely nice hunters and jumpers and of course, wee baby Tiggs Great-grandmother Dublin Gold .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPzSmAzJ3U8

We have been following this research for awhile - Germany is considering making it illegal for horses to go longer than 4 hours without forage. Why? Because it is not only critical to their GI health, but to their mental well-being to eat small amounts throughout 24 hours. People spend thousands of dollars and hours and hours finding the right saddle - for the sake of the horse. But how many of us bed on shavings and throw our horses flakes 3 or 4 times a day? A badly fitting... saddle is not worse than bad feeding practices is it? Shavings are cheap and the most widely used bedding in our area - but if you haven't used them in a while and open a bag at a show you'll be shocked at how 'chemical' they smell - they also take forever to compost for recycling. We decided to go a different route - slightly more expensive, but ultimately doing the best we can for our equines and the environment. We use slow feed boxes outside for indoor horses - we use slow feed nets for all indoor feedings and we use processed straw for bedding. It cuts down on the dust/mold issue with regular straw, the horses love love love it and they always have something to nibble on (but the goal with the nibble nets is to have enough hay until morning). After a bout of ulcers with one of our horses we asked the internal medicine vet what we can do from an environmental and nutritional initiative to better improve our horses' lives. And we listened - yes it's slightly more time consuming, but it's cheaper than a new saddle and both benefit the horse. It also composts, is absorbent and the horses all spend more time lying down sleeping than with other bedding products. Not all vets even ask what the nutritional program is when treating ulcers - but the answer is the key to prevention and long term health - both in terms of physical health and mental well being. Take a minute to review bedding and feeding practices - your horse will thank you! See more
So we are sloooooooowly updating our website (no don't hold your breath), but will be featuring some of our sales, performance, broodmare and youngsters families .... Here's one for our beautiful Cordelia NF ....
Copenhagen NF looking stunning. (2019 Casallco x Cassini II, branded Hanoverian gelding)
We are looking for someone to come and do the barn 3-4 days a week (flexible on which days work for you), not full day just 8:15am-12:15pm. It’s only a small number of stalls, turn out, feeding, blanketing, and stall cleaning. Must have horse (and ideally quad) experience and be over 18 years old. Reliability is very important. It is a physical job, but we do have an electric sweeper and hydraulic dump cart so it’s as easy as a barn job can be. Contact me for more information, or to send your resume or experience.
More horsie masks! While we're not happy we still need them, but might as well be stylish and safe!
Autumn mornings on the farm....
The little jumper boys having a rip! Leif the conquerer (Lordanos x Escudo I) and Beemer (Casallco x Cassini II).
