*Nordic Pole Walking Improves Posture!* Nordic Pole Walking strengthens the deep-lying muscles which stabilize your spine. This happens from the continuous impa...ct that reaches back and lower trunk muscles, in combo with the slight natural rotation of the upper body during pole walking. This means the spine stays upright and low back pain diminishes!
"In addition, it speeds up weight loss as well as recovery time from knee and hip surgery, plus it reduces stress on those joints. Pole walking adds upper body muscle to your arms, shoulders and neck, and it’s a low impact exercise."

Fun Fact: Performing the correct Nordic Pole Walking technique puts less impact on your joints. A study by Wilson et al. (2001) had 13 healthy adults complete ...10 walking trials under 3 different poling conditions. They found that the use of poles enabled participants to walk at a faster speed with reduced vertical ground reaction forces, reduced vertical knee joint reaction forces, and a reduction in the knee extensor angular impulse and support moment, depending on the poling condition used. In layman’s terms, that means Nordic Pole Walking puts less impact on the joints than walking without poles

Another great reason to start Nordic Pole Walking! "

We are open! We'll be taking precautions to keep our patients and staff safe, and virtual appointments are still available for those who feel more comfortable staying home. #KnowledgeInMotion #BestHealthPhysio
Need Physio? Great News! Best Health Physiotherapy is re-opening, Wednesday, June 3, 2020! While pandemic restrictions have been in place, we have continued ...to provide services virtually. We are happy to welcome all patients back to the clinic for in person visits now. We will still provide services virtually for those who feel more comfortable continuing to receive their therapy that way. Visiting our clinic will feel different on re-opening, but all procedures are designed with everyone’s safety in mind. Appropriate barriers will be in place at our front reception desk, staff and patients will be required to wear masks, sanitizing hand rub will be available throughout the clinic, and all our usual diligent cleaning procedures will be stepped up. Everyone will be screened regarding their health prior to booking an appointment, and again when they arrive. Physically, our clinic is perfectly designed to maintain physical distancing, as all treatment is done in private treatment rooms. You can have a look at our lovely facility and private treatment rooms here: https://youriguide.com/unit_2_1329_gardiners_rd_kingston_on. When you arrive at the clinic you will be directed straight to your treatment room to minimize close contact with anyone other than your therapist. Rooms and equipment are sanitized and all linens changed between each patient. Of course, therapists will continue with their rigourous hand washing protocols. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing all our ongoing patients in person again, and welcoming many new ones. Even though we are wearing masks, our faces are still smiling underneath! #KnowledgeInMotion #BestHealthPhysio
