A great way to support local non-profits. Thank you Victoria County!
Just a reminder that if you wish to receive an order from the Food Bank next week (Feb. 18) that you MUST phone in your order by 7pm this Sunday, Feb. 14. Contact numbers are: Gordon: 902-285-2665 or Eddie: 902-565-9030.
Our volunteers have been hard at work this past month carrying out renovations to the Food Bank. Thanks to the very generous donation of pre-used shelving units by Victoria Co-op Fisheries, we were able to completely replace our out-dated and inefficient shelving. We have been able to create an entire area for extra stock and lay-out our inventory in an organized manner. The new units make putting together orders much easier and we are able to easily see what we have in stock... and what we need to order. Thank you Victoria Co-op Fisheries for always supporting our community Food Bank, it is very much appreciated! We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have donated over the past year, and who continue to do so. As you can see from the photos, your donations enable us to carry sufficient stock to meet the needs of the Food Bank clients. THANK YOU!
2020 Tax Receipts will be mailed out the week of January 18th, 2021.
Happy New Year! We hope this post finds you well. The Board of Directors would like to take this time to let the public know about a new change taking place in how we provide monthly food orders. As you may know, our association is operated and managed by a small group of dedicated volunteers. We do our best to deliver our services in a way that is efficient and meets the needs of our clients. As such, we are implementing a new phone-in order policy effective immediately. Wh...at does this mean? Well, it means that we are now asking ALL clients to call one of our contact numbers by the Sunday before the next Food Bank opening. One of our volunteers will go through a grocery list with you and will check off the items you wish to have. When you arrive at the Food Bank your order will be ready and your wait time will be minimal. This new policy will allow us to control our food inventory and deliver the food orders to our clients in a much quicker way. Attached to this post is a sheet containing the necessary information needed for those wishing to use the Food Bank's services. We trust that folks will understand the need for us to implement this new policy and we look forward to continuing to serve our clients in the future.
A HUGE thank you to the Parks Canada Union 80016 for organizing the Food Drive today and to all those who stopped and donated food and cash. Because of your generosity we are able to provide service to our clients on a regular basis without interruption! Merry Christmas to you all!
Just a reminder that our hours have changed. We are open from 10am to 1pm today.
IMPORTANT: New hours effective immediately. The Food Bank will be open from 10am to 1pm every third Thursday of the month. Also, we ask that you please phone in your order ahead of time (by Noon on the day before pick-up). Call Eddie at 902-565-9030 or Gordon at: 902-285-2665.
