We had great help this year from a few young bucks and some not so young bucks! We now use a branding table, but you will notice that at the end of the album, the "young bucks" wanted to give good old fashioned throwing a go!

Branding has been successfully completed thanks to a very helpful crew. Our son Geordan made the trip from Edmonton to give us a hand as well as Dave's two nieces with their husbands, and our future daughter, Stephanie came to help. Colin, Rebecca and their two boys as well as Kevin and Natalie and their two girls came all the way from Squamish for the two days. It was the best branding ever, the calves did well. We doctored some cows who had feet problems and put them out to pasture. We sorted out a cow and calf because the calf has a severe case of scours. Calf is doing well now, all signs of scours gone It was a busy weekend and we were very grateful for the help we had!

what is it like knowing that it is -33 outside and a rancher has to go out to feed his livestock? First we pray that the tractor will start! Then we pray that nothing breaks while feeding. Over this cold snap no waterers have frozen, all equipment is working and the animals seem to be holding out well. They are eating a lot more than usuall in order to stay warm. Thankfully managing holistically allows for only starting up the tractor once a week or as needed. Now if only there was a door on the tractor.......

Sausages and pepperoni! Yes, we have a great stock of both of these items. We are in Quesnel every Wednesday and if you are interested in ordering any please let us know! We have also made up packages of grass finished beef. We now have a trial package for $50, a medium package for $100.00 and a large package for $175.00. These packages include sausages, steaks, roasts, stewing beef and ground beef. A reminder that this is GMO, Gluten and Hormone free beef!
