Helpful Hints to ensure your Internet Service is there when you need it. 1) With spring just around the corner thunderstorms will be common. Unplug your modem/WiFi router and computers during storms. If your internet is DSL (plugs into a telco phone jack) make sure to unplug the DSL cable as well. These are sensitive electronic devices that are susceptible to surges and static discharges. Most off the shelf surge protectors are not sufficient to protect sensitive electronics.... 2) Like all electronic equipment they have a life span especially when running 24/7 consider unplugging equipment when not in use, i.e before you turn in for the night. 3) Protect your modem/router from overheating. Do not put anything on top of your Modem/Router, make sure there is adequate room around your equipment to dissipate heat. 3) All ISP's and Communications Service companies are essential services and we have all taken action to ensure we have the necessary stock to keep you up and online. However most modems and wifi routers are made in China and there may be limited supply. If you need service, now is the time to order it. If you already have services take steps to keep your sensitive electronics in good working order.
