"Some of the trees that we're harvesting today were planted 50 years ago, so we recognize the value of planting trees as an economic model for our forestry sect...or, as well as what it does for our tourism sector and the health of our community" - Peter Emon, Country of Renfrew Councillor. Plant trees to fight climate change and have future generations enjoy them just like we have been. Some great native varieties to consider are Red Maple and Sugar Maple, Paper Birch, Red Oak, Eastern White Pine, Canadian Tamarack and many more. These trees not only provide Shade and Oxygen but give us the beautiful colour we all love and admire every Autumn. Maple Leaves Forever offers a 25% Thank You Rebate to eligible purchasers of Native Maples. where you can attain a 25% Rebate. The Fall 2019 tree planting season will run from Sept. 23 to Nov. 15 with a Rebate Application deadline of Nov. 6. More information at www.mapleleavesforever.com. Forest Ontario offers tree planting programs for woodlot owners. www.forestsontario.ca
