Latest picture of knitted knockers knit by wonderful volunteers. I didn’t want to take them out of the self isolating bags, as I am shipping them to Knitted Knockers Canada. Along with some others that have been languishing here. Also some crochet chemo hats, that I’ll be dropping off at the NBRHC.

Hi Friends! Just a quick note. We are going to skip our virtual meeting for this month. Everyone seems to have a lot on their plates right now, including me so we will pass for this month. Breathe, relax, enjoy Lunar New Year/Valentines Day/Family Day and we will "see" you in March!

Vintage knitting patterns are always fascinatingnot just for the styles, though those are often interestingbut even for how the patterns, photos, and information are laid out. Notice that this skating dress only has three sizes, based on the bust measurement. Another neat thing is that this pattern book has a ruler (in inches) printed on the back cover. No date is given, but my guess is that this was published in the 30s or 40s based on the silhouettes of some of the other patterns. (More photos to come!) Also, With circular needle cast on 1120 sts. Join being careful not to twist sts. Can you imagine?

Welcome September! The summer sure seemed to fly by this year. Hopefully, you had time this summer to slow down and smell the roses. As our lives continue to be changed by the worldwide pandemic, each new season is a brand-new fresh start. One thing that hasn't changed is that autumn is a knitter's time to shine! Normally we would be gearing up for or regular Hand Knitters Guild season. We are still going to have guild this year, it's just going to look a little bit differe...nt. -To keep everyone safe, we will meet on-line via Zoom at least through February when flu season is winding down. -That being said, we are going to try to meet outside for the September meeting, weather permitting. SUNDAY, September 20, 1-3 pm at LEE PARK. Please bring a chair and your knitting. We will send out a reminder closer to the date. RAIN DATE: Virtual Meeting, Monday, Sept 21 7-9. -Other dates of note: Monday, October 20, 7-9 via Zoom Monday, November 16. 7-9 via Zoom December Meeting: TBA December 14 or 21. We will discuss some alternatives to our Holiday Party. -Membership Fee will remain $20 to cover Zoom fees and other alternate activities we might do this year. You can pay via e-transfer, in person, or drop off at McKnitterson's. We will get your Guild Card to you. -We've been brain-storming some great ideas on how to stay connected, like a fun new way to do the Magic Yarn Ball swap, recipe exchanges, coffee shop meet-ups, etc We are excited to share them with you. Please feel free to ask questions and share your ides if you have them! "See" you soon, Rosemary and Scott
