The 3rd recipient of the NCLGA's 2020 Community Leadership Awards is the City of Prince George! In the category of social responsibility, the City of Prince George has demonstrated leadership through two inspiring projects: Homeless Service Hubs and Indigenous Online Awareness Training. In partnership with the BC Housing and the Prince George Native Friendship Centre, the City established two homeless services hubs to create a safe, clean and inclusive downtown area. Each se...rvice centre provides important resources such as washrooms, storage and outreach services to those in need. Working alongside the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation, the City has also spearheaded the development of Indigenous Online Awareness Training. This valuable training course consists of three interactive modules: an introduction to Indigenous Peoples, profiles of colonization and residential schools with Lheidli T'enneh perspectives and a discussion on the path forward to reconciliation. Congratulations to the City of Prince George and thank you for the great work you do for your community.
