Emergency Response Benefit The Government of Canada has released new information for the Emergency Response Benefit (previously referred to as the Emergency Care Benefit and Emergency Support Benefit). There are a number of changes and some clearer information on how the program will work and who qualifies. Below is a summary of the new information: About the benefit The benefit of $2,000 will be paid monthly. Payments of this benefit will be made for up to 16 weeks. The appl...ication will be released in the first week of April and qualified applicants can expect their first payments withing 10 days of the date of the application. Eligibility -you must be 15 years or older - you must be a Canadian Resident - You must have earned income of at least $5,000 in 2019/2020 (Note: not all income qualifies) - You must have stopped working due to COVID19 (this includes self employed and those who are still employed but do not have sufficient work)
