In light of the recent Covid situation within the Province and thinking about the safety of our community as a whole, the Board of Directors of North End Rec Centre have made the difficult decision to close NERC effective tonight at 11:59 p.m. until at least mid-January 2021. This closure includes the building, ballfield, tennis/basketball courts and rink surfaces. The closure may be extended past mid-January depending on further Provincial Guidelines and the Covid situation... at that time. The Board of Directors wish to thank the community for their understanding as we move through this difficult time.

NERC FIREWORKS- Nov 1

TONIGHT!!! Treats will be handed out in the parking lot at 6:45pm with our awesome fireworks at 7pm. Please remember that Covid-19 protocols are in place and attendees are to stay within their family bubbles and maintain 6 feet distance from other families at all times. Non-medical masks are strongly encouraged to be worn. If you are feeling unwell or have any symptoms of Covid, please stay at home!

Since our pre-Halloween celebration was postponed due to reasons beyond our control, join us tomorrow night (Sunday, November 1) for post-Halloween treats and fireworks. The following are our new rental policies and safety measures for anyone looking to hold an event at NERC: 1. Gathering limits for events are based on the public health guidelines for private events. The gathering limit at this time is 50 PEOPLE. This number includes all guests, catering staff, and other service providers such as DJs. 2. North End Rec is holding a virtual FUN-draiser! Get out your pumpkin carving tools and carve your best pumpkin design! HOW TO ENTER: Carve your pumpkin with your coolest design, take a picture and send your photo to us through Facebook or e-mail at: [email protected]. Please include your name. Deadline for submissions is OCTOBER 25, 2020 at 5:00p.m. HOW TO VOTE: On October 26, 2020, all photos will be uploaded to our Facebook page. Voting is open to everyone. To cast ...a vote, send an e-transfer with donation for any amount to [email protected] (password: pumpkin) and indicate in the memo section of your e-transfer which pumpkin you are voting for! Voting will run until NOON on October 30! The pumpkin that raises the most donations, WINS! All voting donations will go to NERC for continued upgrades and programming. Donations of $10 or more can request a charitable tax receipt to be mailed (please indicate name/address in the memo section of your e-transfer)! *Limit 1 pumpkin entry per person. Contest is open to all ages. A prize, including bragging rights, will be awarded to the winner*

Due to the low number of entries for our contest, we have extended our submission deadline to Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. Submissions can be emailed to [email protected] or sent through Facebook message to our page. Voting will run from Monday, October 26 to Friday, October 30 at noon with the winner being announced Friday evening.

Don’t forget to submit your pumpkins! Deadline for entries is this THURSDAY!

Our bottle drive gets underway at 9 am this morning! Drop your refundables off to us in the parking lot of the centre between 9-1 or give us a call at (902)616-6296 to have them picked up!
