Are you buying a used vehicle? I just got off the phone with AMVIC as a customer had a vehicle pre- purchase inspection done here, and there were 2 major safety... issues. 1 the windshield had a massive stone bruise with several cracks across the drivers vision, 2 The rear tires were worn bald on the inside edge. due to improper wheel alignment. I brought this up with the selling Go Auto dealer. their response was: "if the customer signs off on this that they are not responible. we have sold hundreds of vehicles like this." Wow!!! According to Amvic our Alberta legislature doesn't have any guidelines for vehicle sales in the way of inspections or road worthiness. So a dealership can sell a car that is unsafe for the road and you the buyer can literally have your car towed the second it hits the road if an officer finds it unsafe or if while visiting a repair shop, they find it unsafe. The dealer is not liable unless they knew something and didn't disclose it and you would have to prove this. Talk to your MLA. please, my girls are driving on these roads.
