Northern Bad Girl

Please LIKE, COMMENT & SHARE. Round of applause for the baddest of the Northern Bad Girls, my mother, Thérèse Thibault. Born in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec in February 1955 (that’s right, this lady is almost 66 years old! Hard to believe huh?). Thérèse now creates beautiful flower displays and bouquets (photos in comments) that she sells to add that colourful touch to any decor. At the young age of 18, she left the world she knew and moved to Garson: new province, new language, new... beginning with her then boyfriend (before their 45 year marriage), this was a big step for a teenager. She eventually learned the language, got married and had 4 children, then 9 grandchildren. She always loved to do crafts with her children. Thérèse was often participating in vendors markets and craft shows. In the past few years, her interest in gardening and photography grew. She loves her flower bed and takes many photos of her precious flowers all summer long. It wasn’t long before she started creating artificial bouquets for friends and family. Thérèse now takes custom orders for her clients, supplying them with beautiful arrangements to decorate their home, or tasteful graveside flowers to garnish your passed loved ones memorial sites. Her inspiration comes from her love of flowers as a child. I would pick flowers in the field, admiring their different, and sometimes odd shapes, and their beautiful array of colours, she stated, even watching the bees at work fascinated me. To me, assembling these flowers brings me joy, it is like comparing it to a meditation session. I feel calm, happy and content. My favourite part of my work is finally seeing my clients’ happy faces when they get a bouquet I made for them. Thérèse is a woman who has found what she loves. She hopes that all the readers also find what brings them joy. Everyone has a passion. You have to try different things to find yours. It could be waiting for you, right in front of your eyes.
