A cool new install from our Automatic Doors team! This wave-to-open door sensor was the perfect solution for a set of washrooms in Waterloo. These sensors turn from green to red when the washroom is occupied to encourage social distancing. Furthermore, they prevent cross-contamination by eliminating the need to use a highly touched door handle. All you have to do is wave to open the door. A pharmaceutical manufacturer wanted to prevent contamination from one room to the next as the powders they work with have the potential to become airborne. To prevent cross-contamination from happening at their facility, they contacted Northern Dock Systems for a solution. We provided them with a preventative cross-contamination door system and touchless activators to keep the different areas isolated. Seven Iso-Roll high-speed fabric roll-up doors were installed to partitio...n off each area. These doors are GMP, FDA and EMEA compliant featuring a low profile track with a soft seal bottom edge (contains no metal) to stop air infiltration from the ground up. The full break away curtain has an auto-reset feature. No tools are required to reset the door and it prevents downtime and/or costly repairs. In addition to the high-speed fabric doors, we installed a touchless wave sensor-actuator on either side of the door. Employees never have to worry about cross-contamination from pushing a button to open a door. They can simply open a door with a wave of a hand. These sensors can be easily installed or retrofitted to any type of door. The faceplates come in a variety of designs including white, black, cream, illuminated, single or double gang boxes. We purchased the EcoAir Filtration system at a HEPA 13 standard, and it does catch a lot of air debris when the team cleans out the filter each week or so. It offers air diffusion for the ceiling space and should assist in reducing the delta in temperature near the ceiling vs the ground air as you walk around the plant.
