Flashback to styling and coordination at Code's Mill on the Park. We love working in Perth!

Well, it’s been a bittersweet weekend here at Northern Grace Event Co. Amie completed her last wedding on Saturday. After beginning our wedding planning journey together in 2014 Amie and I quickly became more than business partners, we became good friends. Running a business together shows you every side there is to a person. We learned that neither of us like coffee or wine, there’s no such thing as too much gravy, being ‘hangry’ is a very real thing, Doritos are not the o...nly sustenance you need when working all day and that we completely disagree on what music should be playing in the car. Most importantly though we saw each other during our extreme highs and our extreme lows but we always stuck together. We had huge learning curves along the way. From learning who is a friend and who is just business, working hard to accomplish a goal only to have others tear it down, and learning to walk away from something that’s just not working out. We lifted each other up when it was needed and we always offered support. We’ve had a million and one ideas between us and we worked so hard to build Custom Events. It’s crazy to think that it was just a few short years ago we were doing our first styled shoot, wedding show and wedding together. I’m so happy Amie is content, growing in her career and that she has decided to pursue what will make her happy but I will truly miss having her as my business partner. Even though Custom Events is now Northern Grace Event Co and things are changing fast our friendship is here to stay! I guess I’ll finish my long, sappy post by saying good luck and there’s always room here for you if you change your mind ;)

This past weekend we had the pleasure of coordinating Amber and Cory’s wedding aka Betty and Auger. Sometimes the greatest things happen when you leave your comfort zone. I began talking to Krystin and her amazing family late last year about designing her wedding setup. Her taste is minimal, sleek, and modern. In the past we have connected with brides that are very opposite, always loving the vintage, rustic look. So this was a change! In the coming weeks we worked together to make Krystin's vision come to life. She wanted to transform the Brockville Memorial Centre and mak...e it feel like a new space. So I tried to create a feel of two separate spaces that also didn't isolate one area. Enter the 50 foot drape wall, which added such a dramatic look to the room! The all white decor was used in order to really let the uplighting be the star of the show. The atmosphere completely changed when the lights were turned off and the purple hue took over the room. The light reflecting perfectly through the water-filled vases and the soft-glow of floating candles finished off the design perfectly. Thank you Krystin, Tyler and family for being so trusting and kind. We wish you so much happiness and love in your marriage! These photos don't do it justice (I'm too impatient/excited to wait on the professional shots) but I am so happy we ended up working together. It lead to a stunning setup!
