Shorties make the best kick-arounds! Easy on and off when you're out and about on the go in the winter... I had a daughter surprise her mother with a new pair before Christmas - and she didn't miss the opportunity to score a pair for herself! Both pair are done in the rugged standard suede with rabbit fur - the teal with natural heather and the grey with chinchilla grey. They're lined with the fantastic sheared wool lining ...so if our mercury finally drops to normal for mi...d-winter, they're still going to be toasty warm! Custom beadwork featuring palm trees and turtles were a collaborative effort between myself and Jaqueline, one of our newer additions to the northern hearts design team - my thanks for her efforts in bringing our designs to life so beautifully. I have some cute-ness to share today! A special Christmas request that was picked up last month: Unicorn mukluks! Purple garment leather with iridescent leather vamps, with leather applique eyes, nose, ears and horn. Had a little fun with a rainbow 'mane' running through the frosted rex fur panels... and the final touch at the recommendation of a team member: mermaid glass eyes. They reflect light so appear to be glowing in every picture... Toddler size 9, they were don...e with the real sheared wool lining in the feet - this is one little girl who won't have cold toes! As we swing deeper into winter and this new year (thank god!), I'm going to do my best to catch up on everything that didn't (or couldn't) be shared before the holidays! First up this lovely pair of top section beaded Shorties. They were done in black bison suede and combination lined with our signature sheared wool in the foot sections for exceptional warmth. This beadwork is full of personal meaning for their owner... it speaks to remembrance and love and I was honored to ...be trusted with their creation. Have a lovely day All!

I love doing custom work - you never know what you might be asked to try next! With this order, I learned what a Hamsa is... In all faiths it is a protective sign. It brings its owner happiness, luck, health, and good fortune. The hamsa hand sometimes includes an evil eye symbol, which is thought to protect against the evil eye. These are an attempt to replicate their owner's tattoo - it can be challenging to translate a very detailed picture into beadwork, but I'm really ha...ppy with how these came together. I don't know why I'm so in love with these, no beading... just a simple, well-loved style - but they're just so pure! They're actually a bridal pair, but this bride is lucky enough to have aunties who are beading something special for her to wear. She just needed a simple but beautiful moccasin to go on. I'm honored to be included as a small part in her day. Traditional moccasin slippers done in white deer with white rex. Custom-patterned to her foot tracing, they are stan...dard lined with fleece in one of her bead colors, they also have a high-density foam insole for a little cushion underfoot. Yikes... still so many things to share - I keep saying I *won't* get behind in my posting, lol... Its been a long time since I shared any bead panels ...and boy have we had bead panels happening! Another set that was on its way a little while ago... Shorty mukluks with matching mitts this time. This set was done with black bison and purple-dyed fox. Custom beaded turtles for the foot vamps and mitt backs, and they're combination lined with the real shearling wool lining in the foot sections. I wish I could see boxes being opened on Christmas! I was so excited to share these a couple of day ago, but it took me this long to get to the computer! I am SO far behind in things to share - especially some of the amazing beadwork the Northern Hearts Designs Team has been churning out.. This set of full panel beaded northern lights panels may end up being my favorite yet! They have Caribou! I've never done Caribou before - I was worried they would be too small to work well, but the amazingly talented Rosalynne nailed them... with her size 15 beadwork! Did you love the Rex rabbit on the last pair we shared? Me too... so much in fact, that we brought in a brand new selection in some amazing colors this year. All of it the thickest, most beautifully soft fur ever. (my daughter may have convinced me to make a pillow out it ) It as amazing as we could have hoped and just needed to be made into some mukluks to show it off... so many, many months ago, a Crystal Snowflakes run of ladies mukluks was started.... Inventory is a luxury that rarely happens - all the time goes into orders, but 2020 has been an odd year. A shutdown and pause in orders... supply chain delays putting us at a stop a couple more than once... so some inventory items actually happened! All of the Crystal Snowflakes design mukluks were done with grey garment leather and color accent and snowflake beading. Either on the last of our spectacular iridescent blue leather, or on some of our most vibrant standard suedes with Swarovski crystal-tipped snowflakes. Silver snowflake charm above. They're all lined with the real sheared/shearling wool in the foot sections, so they're true Canadian-winter level warmth and worthy of our label. The Rex rabbit colors being showcased are the Frosted grey (charcoal undercoat with white tips), the steel grey and the charcoal grey. Only one pair made in each size in the run... and sorry; one got away and was sold before we could get them posted! These are the only inventory mukluks that will be able to happen before the end of 2020 and can be found in the Ready-ship-section of the website. Thank you for your amazing response to the poppy campaign! They headed out to their proud new owner/supporters yesterday - so now back to our regularly scheduled programming! Hard choice photographing this gorgeous set of Tiered Fur mukluks with matching mitts. Do I photograph on white background so you can see the leather/beading well, or photograph on black so the amazing fur is showcase? This pair is the first Tiered set done with the new Frosted grey rex rabbit fur - an...d wow; I think it's my new favorite in the style! They have custom beaded (size 15 beads) eagles up top and two-feathers tied on the vamps and mitts. Real sheared wool lining in the feet for exceptional warmth.
