Finishing Touch to a Timber Frame RV-port we constructed recently, we've added some heavy doors. Notice the Door in a Door. Doors are 6'-6" Wide by 9'-6" Tall constructed of Pressure Treated Double 2x6" Frame and 1/2" P.T. Plywood and about 6 tubes of PL Premium 3X adhesive.
It's a Chinking kind of day...
We shop fabricated this latest project with a design that required no crane work. Each piece of this Timber Frame Structure was put in place by 2 men with 10 and 12 foot ladders, and a fair bit of grunting. The joinery of this frame is typical of garage and impliment building quality, but could be well suited for camp packages as well to keep a lean construction budget. A home or cottage would require more intricate joinery including dowel connections, The owner's intent is... to have canvas panels made that can be rolled up and out of the way between each post. The upper webbing of the trusses will be plexiglass or marine grade clear vinyl sheets to allow maximum lighting within when side panels are in place. To add to this project we will be fabricating a set of doors in the next week to be mounted at the entry of this 14x24 foot building.
Just returned from a week in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Another project of joining forces with www.360-i.com installing the kitchen cabinet displays for the next Lowe's store in Canada. Five Transport Loads of product to be assembled and installed as 18 separate kitchen layouts. Even though we were down a man from 6 to 5, and had 40 percent more cabinets than the Soo Store, we pulled it off. Countertops and appliances later to be installed.
