Fred and I are taking advantage of a last minute cancellation to have some alone time (with doggo Selma) at the Cedar Cabin this weekend while Corbin has a sleepover at his grandparents’. . So far our getaway has been amazing! . Caught a teeny lake trout and let it go - a good sign that they are reproducing well in Chub Lake as some big ones have bee caught here this winter too.... . Enjoyed each other’s company (and had a real conversation!) over a candlelight dinner. . Read my book and snuggled in front of the roaring woodstove while Fred made dinner. . Now Fred is snoring beside me but I’m hoping he might wake up to play some crib. If not I’ll have to eat all the chips by myself . This cabin is such a dream. Dear friends of Kegos Camp: We have some exciting news to share. As of Summer 2021, Kegos Camp will be owned and managed by Mike and Gillian's daughter Robin and her husband Fred. Robin and Fred and their children (2 year old Corbin and baby-girl-on-the-way) will be the fourth generation of our family to run the resort. ... They will work hard to preserve Mike and Gillian's 30 year legacy of providing the warm and welcoming family-oriented customer service you've all come to love. As part of this ownership transition, Robin and Fred will be renaming the camp Northern Skies Resort. They will continue to focus on providing classic family vacations at the camp while also focusing on eco-tourism, including renting their off grid backcountry cabin, hosting health and wellness retreats and offering local wilderness, arts and culture experiences. We also now have a fully winterized cabin that is available to rent year-round. Because the resort is staying in the family, it is likely you might see Mike and Gillian around the camp, as they will be helping Robin and Fred out as mentors and as grandparents. They have moved into a well earned retirement and have purchased a beautiful log home near Thessalon so are not far away.
