Launching the war canoes for the season at Taylor Statten. 36 paddlers per canoe! These striking Peterboroughs were brought to the camp by train in the 1920s and restored this winter to their former glory.

Looking forward to my first visit to Algonquin Park and Taylor Statten Camps! Teaching Wilderness Advanced First Aid at one of Canada’s storied tripping camps - with one of the largest collections of traditional wood canvas canoes - will be a great kick-off to summer.

Great to be back at Tim Horton’s Camp Whiteshell for an 8 day Wilderness First Responder course. With 52 students and 6 instructors on site this was the largest Wilderness Medical Associates gathering in Manitoba yet! Check out my moulage below and a great splinting job from the students.

Returning to Atikokan High School for a second year of Wilderness First Aid Training on Sunday. They are a great crew of students and teachers working together in a very exciting Outdoor Ed program. Fellow instructors Neil Mcdonald and Dallas Buhr will make this a great learning experience.
