Annapolis County Goes to War - 1914-1918 a Salt Box Talk Lecture - Presented by Dr. Barry Moody at North Hills Museum Tuesday September 25, 2018 10:00 am - 12:00 pm or 1:30 - 3:30 pm / Call to register $10, includes coffee, tea, and baked treats. 902-532-2168 or e-mail [email protected] This talk will examine the ways in which the people of Annapolis County responded to the call to arms following the outbreak of war between Great Britain and Germany and its allies in... 1914. This complex four year period has left an indelible mark on all of Canada, and on this part of Nova Scotia as well. The pressures of a prolonged, and extremely bloody, conflict strained the emotional, social and physical fabric of the country almost to the breaking point, while the toll on the young men of the county was immense. This talk will not focus extensively on the conflict in Europe, but rather on the home front, and those left behind as the young men marched off to war. See more
