2019 is going to be a wind down year for the North Island Reptile Rescue. Effective immediately, we will no longer be intaking boas or other large constrictors, savannah monitors, tegus, iguanas. We realize this may cause some distress for those needing to rehome one of the listed species. We will try to help you if possible, however, we will not intake those reptiles into our care. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
We have a good assortment of surplus tanks for sale. $1.00/ gal. These are basically aquarium type tanks. Screen lids cost extra. We also have lots of enclosure décor and heat lamp hoods. Prices vary, but most décor is by donation. Inbox us if interested. Pick up in Comox.
We currently have two large adult boas ready for adoption. Both exceed eight feet. They are both eating well on F/T'd prey. We do not consider these snakes suitable for beginners, they require large enclosures. Shipping to the mainland can be arranged at your cost. Vancouver Island potential adopters can pick up in Comox. Please send a message to our inbox if interested.

The reptile community has lost a very good friend. Chris Richardson, co-founder and first President of the BC Reptile Club passed away last night (Aug 13) of a heart attack. Chris's vision to create a community where reptile enthusiasts can meet and gather, sell reptiles and share information lives on strong. Chris invited NIRRS to attend a BCRC Reptile Expo in 2009. We were able to attend a few of those expos, but every reptile expo the BCRC puts on, is now represented by a reptile rescue, Val from Reptile Rescue, Adoption and Education Society. Your legacy lives on Chris, and you will be dearly missed. Thank you from all of us at NIRRS for all you have done for us.
