As part of green day, we offered 3 green foods for the kids to try, green pepper, kiwi and avocado. We asked them to touch, smell and taste the items. The teachers also participated to encourage the children to try new things!

These creative boys built a poky ball run down, where they would roll the ball down and would go through obstacles to try and come back out.
The Kinnwood preschool classroom did a cooking activity. They talked about food sensitivities and allergies since we have some. After selecting a zucchini from the Farmer’s Market, they made gluten-free zucchini-strawberry loaf. Every child had a chance to cut, measure and add ingredients.

This preschooler helped her friends to make oatmeal cookies. She was able to use picture clues on the recipe to communicate her thoughts on what came next. After she had a turn to stir the ingredients, she smiled and said I got to help make our snack! She was pretty proud of herself.

These boys have a strong interest in tractors and have worked together to build a tractor with the big blocks. They’re using their experience and knowledge of real tractors to recreate this in their play and experimenting with the blocks to see how best to make the tractor.... all while having fun!
