The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) is pleased to introduce its Player Development Model (PDM) for players 8-years-old and under. This document will serve as a ...guideline to the Hockey Canada Initiation Program and the recently updated Novice Programming. The PDM outlines the ideal seasonal structure for all age groups leading up to and including Novice. It also suggests ice layouts to meet with the requirements of the Hockey Canada modified-ice for Initiation Program and Novice games. Any parents or hockey administrators with questions about the OHF PDM are asked to contact their Member (ALLIANCE, GTHL, NOHA or OMHA.) Who loves the sounds of hockey? Which one is your favourite? Bardown snipe, Skates on fresh ice, the click of a puck hitting the ice, the hum of the rink?
It's all about perspective. We take a look at what it's like when a team shoots from the blue line or is defending the blue line from the perspective of a goaltender, defender and forward.
At Hockey Canada, we value the feedback from our members. With that in mind, this month's #TomsTalks is a little unique. Watch and listen for questions from our CEO... we then encourage you to send us your thoughts by commenting or emailing [email protected] #HCCommunity

The World’s Greatest stretch for hockey goalies If you train with a strength coach, you have probably done the world’s greatest stretch in warm up before. ...I first learned it from EXOS founder Mark Verstegen. And he’s right it is an awesome dynamic warm up drill - for moving forward and backward, but as a goalie, you need those quick powerful lateral movements So I updated it to target your groins and your hamstrings which both play a roll in your mobility on the ice. Notice how it works all those muscles from different angles and in different positions - watch to the end where you even integrate your torso. #goaliestretches #goaliewarmup #worldsgreateststretch #loosehipssinkships

The North London Nationals Minor Development teams will be holding a fundraiser for the Children's Aid Society of London & Middlesex (CAS) during the North London Classic Tournament. We will be collecting cash donations as well as gifts for children, adolescents and teens for the Holiday Giving Campaign run through CAS. The North London Nationals Minor Bantam team will then use the donations to purchase gifts based on wish lists they have received from the Children's Aid Soc...iety. The Holiday Giving Campaign provides gifts to families that receive their support services. We will be operating a booth at the Western Fair Sports Centre, right by Dekes Bar & Grill from 9am-7pm on Friday and Saturday and 9:00am-3:00pm on Sunday. All donations are greatly appreciated by the North London Nationals, but even more appreciated by the Children's Aid Society. Let's work together to help brighten a child's holiday season!
