North Perth Community of Character

RACE KIT PICK UP INFO! (Tshirts, bibs, & envelope swag). Mark your calendars for Tuesday May 25th or Wednesday May 26th. Both running from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Pick up will be at 470 Riverview Dr in Listowel. THIS IS A DRIVE THRU PICK UP! Do not get out of your cars, have a seat cleared or trunk space ready for the merch to be contactlessly placed in your vehicle. Please email [email protected] to make other arrangements if required.

Some bittersweet news for you all. Patti, the awesome coordinator we all love, has decided to start a new adventure. She undoubtedly leaves this position with legacy for her passion, accomplishments, and determination in this role, as well as her perfect emulation of the character attributes we promote. We will miss you! On the flip side; I am stepping up to this position for the Community of Character and I could not be more excited!! If you do not know me, I am Hayley Diet...z; a young adult born and raised in Listowel. I am a photographer, supply teacher, art lover, and small town enthusiast! Most of my background consists of inclusion efforts, mental health initiatives, and education. In 2006, I began by joining the council for the Community of Character and now I am here as coordinator. I wanted this post to serve as a hello to you and perhaps spark some conversations on how my new position can serve your organization. Welcome October! A new month means a new Character Trait to focus on and this month is all about EMPATHY. Empathy is like sympathy but viewing things from the other person's point of view instead of your own. #empathy #NorthPerthCOC

Today is #OrangeShirtDay. Orange Shirt Day is based on Phyllis Webstad’s story of entering a residential school in 1973 and having her orange shirt removed and replaced with a school uniform. Orange Shirt Day acknowledges the harmful impact residential schools had on Indigenous children's sense of self-esteem & well- being. It is also a day to honour all residential school survivors & victims. Did you know... The RZone is an operating procedure adopted by the Municipality of North Perth. It identifies a code of conduct that applies to all municipal facilities, programs, parks and trails. The RZone procedure enforces a set of expectations around violence, vandalism and inappropriate behaviour for participants and members of the public. What does RZone mean? The ‘R' in the logo stands for Respect and Responsibility.... Respect for yourself Respect for others Responsibility for your actions The logo will serve as a reminder to staff and the public that the operating procedure is in effect and applies to everyone participants, visitors, residents and employees.
