As the weather starts to cool down, DON’T Relax on your tick prevention efforts. Ticks have what’s called a Bloom In spring and in fall. This means that we will likely be seeing an increase of ticks in the coming months. Please remember that ticks are active and are looking for a blood meal. Ticks can carry various diseases that can become very harmful to you and your furry family members. As long as the temperature is above 4 degrees Celsius ticks still remain out and about. Remember to protect yourself and your pets, and if your pet happens to get a tick that likely means that you have also been in close contact with ticks as well. Let us help you, to keep your loved ones protected. Call us today for your pets tick prevention!

Hi everyone! Please note that due to high volume of food orders within our small clinic, we will only be holding food orders for 2 weeks if ordered specifically for your pet. This is going to help de-clutter our storage area and keep our clinic organized! We also offer online ordering through myvetstore which you can sign up for through our website! ... We hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer!

Northpoint Friend's & Family. We are over the moon excited to announce that dental month is back! As most of you know, and for our new clients who may not be aware, September is our DENTAL MONTH! At Northpoint we always try to promote good dental hygiene. Dental health is very important for humans and pets alike. A healthy mouth can lead to a much happier and healthier life. Poor oral hygiene can lead to ingestion of bacteria that can spread to the rest of the body through th...e bloodstream. Pets are very good at hiding pain, but that doesn't mean that they aren't feeling it. No one wants their pet to feel pain on a regular or even daily basis. We would love to help all our clients give their pets the healthiest and cleanest oral hygiene possible and to help the maintenance at home to be more manageable. Brushing your pet's teeth is awesome, but once the soft plaque turns into hard tartar after 24 hours, your toothbrush won’t get that stuff off! (Dogs can receive a dental cleaning for $480.00 plus tax and cats $450.00 plus tax.) This includes: blood work, IV fluids, anesthesia, hospitalization, dental x-rays, scaling and polishing. We are offering this great discount all month long! Start by calling us to book your pets *FREE* Oral Health Exam, we will give you a personalized estimate based on your pets mouth and then book your pets dental cleaning appointment. Call us at 905-857-7387 to book your *complimentary* dental check up *NOTE: Above price is for dental cleaning only, if teeth need to be removed, the estimate will be adjusted as needed, but you will always be kept informed of your pets specific situation*

Hello everyone! Meet Jerry, a 1 year old Chihuahua. We saw Jerry in May this year for skin issues and extreme hair loss. We ran all our tests and he came back positive for Demodex. Demodex mange is caused by the mites seen in the second picture. Although most dogs can live with this mite and not show any signs, Jerry was a special case in which the infestation caused hair loss and scaly scabbed skin. We started treatments and slowly but surely we started seeing less and les...s mites. The third picture of Jerry is from a few days ago. He’s growing to be a very handsome boy.

Dear all of our valued and wonderful clients, As the coronavirus situation evolves, we want to ensure that we all at Northpoint Veterinary Hospital are doing everything we can to keep our clients and team players safe. We will be supporting the public health recomedations to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Veterinary services are essential but urgent care only: the province has recently made revisions to the list of essential workplaces. We are encouraging all clients to stay... at home during this difficult situation that we are all in. We all need to play a part in keeping this virus reduced as much as we possibly can, sometimes the steps we take feel difficult but they are very necessary. We are still open from 9:30am-5:30pm Monday to Friday and 9:00am-3:00pm on Saturdays. Appointments for Urgent Cases will be booked between the hours of 11am-3pm. We are offering telemedicine for any case that we are able to. There is a minimal cost of $ 30 to speak with the doctor about your pet. You can email pics if needed to [email protected]. We can also video chat over Zoom. If medications are needed after speaking with the doctor you can pay over the phone or via e-transfer and then pick up the medication. We will have a station set up outside the clinic (weather permitting) for contactless pick ups of food and/or medications. If you have symptoms such as fever, cough or difficulty breathing please self isolate and if your pet has an emergency ask a healthy friend or relative to bring your pet to see us. We are asking clients to stay outside of the building (even if having no symptoms) while your pet is taken inside for their exam/procedure. When you arrive in our parking lot we kindly ask that you call us to let us know that you are here and we will come out to take your pet inside. Please bring your cell phone with you and be prepared for the vet to call you while your pet is having his/her exam done. We are only taking a credit card over the phone or etransfer for payment.
