We figured now would be a good time to share the stories of where some of our former employees are landed. For many, North Shore Cinema is their first job. For some, it’s their only job before heading off to post-secondary education, or out into the full-time workforce. While this means we hand many their first paycheque, we do our best to also give a guiding hand; to show them the fruits that a solid work ethic, positive attitude, and respect will bring you. Over the next fe...w days, we’re going to share some short stories of some of our employees that have moved on to the next stage in their life, and what they're doing now. Emily Sears Emily was an employee at North Shore Cinema until 2016. She is a recent graduate of Ryerson University’s Professional Communication program, double minoring in Public Relations and English. Taking this upcoming year off due to the pandemic, she plans to attend the University of Stirling in Scotland in 2021 to pursue a MSc in Strategic PR & Communication Management. She currently lives in Toronto, and has enjoyed volunteering with Ryerson’s Musical Theatre Company for the last several years. While going to university, she was able to bring her movie theatre experience with her, where she worked as a part-time manager at another independent cinema in Toronto, Imagine Cinemas Carlton!

Blood Quantum was supposed to open in theatres tomorrow. Instead we get this timely The Toronto Star article about why it isn't and a great interview with Jeff.... "Picture it: A plague has broken out, resulting in border closures, xenophobia, paranoia and denial of facts. Only in this case it’s a zombie outbreak, and it’s infecting non-Indigenous people outside a fictional First Nations reserve that’s immune to the virus." https://www.thestar.com//blood-quantum-an-eerily-timely-fi
