Dogs are small rays of light captured on Earth for a short time to brighten our days. We lost a very special member of our pack on January 31st. Oscar was so loved, and had the sweetest soul. He always brightened our day having him out on the trails, and was eager to share his love for all 2 legged and 4 legged friends alike. We will miss him dearly. Fly high sweet angel Oscar.

Hi I’m Chloe! I’m sweet, I’m cute and I’m well behaved! My walkers say I’m the full package. :) I love to play with my fur friends on trail, and find the best stick in the whole forest to take back to the van with me. Sticks = life. When I get home, after being dried off, I like to grab the towel and run around the house so my walkers have to chase me. I can’t get enough of them, and they can’t get enough of me.

Hey! I’m Oliver, but you can call me Ollie. I’ve been told I’m the best boy:)! Being in the vehicle, I’m a bit anxious, so my walkers always make sure to pick me up last, and drop me off first so I’m in the vehicle the least amount of time possible! Being out in the forest just makes me so happy! My best friend is Lonnie, I just can’t stop smiling when I’m around her!

Hi everyone, it's Hunter Today is my last day at North Shore Dog Walkers... The past 2 years have been some of the very best in my life! I've met so many amazing pups and people through this job. Matt started with us in October and has been such a great addition to this dog family! Some advice he would give to someone on team is, "Read up on dog psychology as it will help you understand dog behavior and how to communicate with them better." We just want everyone to know that we are still picking up our pups and heading out to the trails! Everyday we are continuing to practice frequent cleaning procedures, and are using extreme caution while in and around client homes. Everyone meet Joey! Our newest, and youngest member of this dogwalking family For those of you who may not know, this wonderful lady is Jamie! She has been with us for over 8 years now and she has just welcomed a beautiful baby boy into this world. We are so happy for her and her growing family!

This absolute sweetheart is Willow "Hi everyone! I started walking with NSDW in September and am having SO much fun! I can't get out the door and onto trail fast enough! I've made so many new friends already, and can't wait for many more play dates! Also, don't let my beautiful white coat fool you, I will definitely be finding a mud puddle to play in no matter where we are or how dry it is!" We are so happy to have her with us and can't wait for many more adventures to come!

Did you know that we offer housesitting and boarding services? We have walkers that are able to come stay in your home to care for your dog. This also includes any other pets you may have, such as cats or fish. As well as taking care of your home while you are away. Or we also have walkers that can care for your dog in their own home while you are away!

"Hello everyone! My name is Teddy, and I must say that I am quite the little gentleman. I get along great with all of the ladies I mean just look at my smile! I happily await my walks with my friends and then prance down the hallway on the way to the car. On trail I love a good mix of walking next to my favourite walkers, and racing around for a good play with my besties. I hope to see you out on the trails some day!"

This is Matt! He is a new addition to our team. As you can probably tell from the dog kisses, all of the pups are loving their time out on trail with him! He claims the best skills he's bringing with him to this job are... "I'm immune to dog saliva, barely ever get lost in the woods, and can bark like several different sizes of dog." We are glad to have him on board, welcome to the team Matt

These 2 cuties are Pepper (Golden Retriever) and Sadie! (Ducktoller) They are the perfect pair, and won't go anywhere without the other. On trail they love to play with the other pups, but always make sure they know where their sister is

Gabe wants to ensure he never looks back on his life wondering "what if?" He'd like to pursue all of his passions and goals to the best of his ability. What are some of your goals you'd like to achieve?

"Hey everyone! I am Duke, a very lovable Golden Retriever The car rides make me nervous but the fun I have on trail with all my friends makes up for it! If I pass a mud puddle you bet I'm going in head first! And then I head straight over to my favourite walkers to make sure they get some on them too!" We absolutely love our walks with Duke! He is such a goofy, lovable boy. Just look at that face

Every morning we meet up in our office where we get ready for our day! We make sure we have the keys for each pup in our group that day, plan our routing, and say hello to all our coworkers! (During this time we are limiting the number of people allowed in at a time, we are sanitizing everything frequently, and taking as many precautions as possible in order to keep all of our staff and amazing clients safe.)

We love reading and sharing these with you all! We always treat each pup as if they are our own while they are out with us "They have been nothing but amazing! Chevy is always tired and happy when I get home. She is a bit of a dirtbag and she is always cleaner when I get home on the days she has her walks, so thank you! Great customer service, great walkers, and overall great company. 10/10 trust with my fur babes."

How cute are Scout and Monty? We have been walking Scout for a few years now and Monty is her little brother that just joined us this year! They are the perfect pair and keep each other busy out on trail

This beautiful lady is Gabriela! She joined our team in March of this year. What she loves about working for North Shore Dog Walkers is how much of a team we all are. "From day one everyone has looked out for each other, and we all try to help and accommodate each other's needs!" We like to think of our team as a little family. Meet Miss Harley! Shes a beautiful Doberman who has colour dilution alopecia, resulting in the gorgeous color of her fur! True to her breed, she is very affectionate and sweet-especially when she greets you at the door! She is a bundle of energy, and she loves to rip back and forth on trail with her other fur friends. She can be persistent with her love... so be prepared for lots of kisses if you see her on trail

Caiti wants to be remembered as someone who was always kind to other living beings, and someone who had a very optimistic, positive perspective on life. Did you know that our group hikes are always 1.5 hours of trail time? For more energetic dogs this may mean they spend the whole hike climbing up the mountain, and for the calmer groups they may take it a bit slower with extra time to smell the forest! With the warmer weather we are always sure to provide adequate cool down and water time for each group. As well as closely monitoring each dog throughout our hike!

It is always our goal to keep a smile on both our 2 legged and 4 legged clients' face! From reliable communication, to fun mountain hikes we like to make sure everyone is as happy as can be! "We are very happy with North Shore Dog Walkers. At first we were wondering if a larger company was a good idea compared to a 1 person walker. We find the benefit of a large (not too large) company is that they are organized and always show up. The reliability factor is huge for us.... There is a small pool of walkers and our dog is happy to go out with any of them, he stares at the door every morning waiting for them. The company is very good with communication too! Memorial Post This sweet boy is Angus. We had this little write up of him ready to go before he passed away earlier this month, and thought it was just too cute not to share. He had a heart of gold and will be forever missed! Rest easy Angus, we hope you find lots of sticks up there "Hi everyone! I'm Angus and I LOVE going out for my walks. I have to say the best part of my day is looking for the most perfect stick to carry around with me. Once I finally have it I ask my walker to throw it for me by dropping it at their feet, and jumping up as high as I can to make eye contact and ensure they understand what I want. They give me smile and toss it around, but just a couple times so I don't get too sore after my walk."

This is Nina! She joined us in February this year and has been such a great addition to our team Some values that really drive her are revolving her life around good, positive vibes. "I truly believe if you put good energy out there, you get it back in some way, shape, or form! Sometimes it's hard to see, but it's there "

Did you know that all of our walkers are Pet First Aid Certified? We know that your pet is an important part of the family and you can put your trust in us to ensure your furbaby is getting the best care possible while they are away from home! We understand that accidents can happen and we are all trained in pet first aid in order to care to the dogs if needed. The goal of Pet First Aid is to prevent further injury, and ease pain and discomfort until qualified Veterinarian assistance can be obtained.

Now that Oakley is home safe and sound with his family we are going to get back on track sharing photos of all our wonderful pups with you! First up is Miss Willow "Hi, I'm Willow! I love my adventures with North Shore Dog Walkers. When I hear my walker coming up to my door I can't help but let out a bark of excitement and as soon as the door opens I just have to give them a kiss or two! Then I lead them straight out to the car so we can get to the trail as fast as possible! I have gone on so many fun adventures with my crew and can't wait for many more to come!"

Oakley's Happy Ending Oakley went missing on the morning of July 28 along the St. Mary's Trail. There were multiple sightings of him on July 29 and then nothing until the morning of August 8. On the morning of August 10th, shortly after 8am, Oakley came racing onto the family's back deck. He was as happy as could be, and just super excited to be home with his family. He did not have a single scratch, or tick on him. He has lost 13 pounds but otherwise he is in great health! ...Sometimes in cases where dogs have been missing this long they can take awhile to fully recognize their owners again. But based on the fact that he was jumping all over his family and showering them in kisses, that definitely isn't an issue in this case. (Just look at that tail go!) Thank you so much to EVERYONE that helped out in Oakley's return! Every amount helped whether you were out hiking on the trails, bushwhacking in the mountains, putting up posters, sharing on your social media pages, or keeping him in your prayers. We are so grateful for this wonderful community of people and love how everyone came together without a second thought! Please Share!* Update: Last sighting was at 10:45 July 29, Baden Powell and Lower Crippler Trail, heading east. ... Oakley has been missing since about 12pm on July 28. He went missing in Lynn Valley on the St. Marys trail. If you are heading out on a hike in North Vancouver please consider hiking in the Lynn Valley area and keeping your eyes open for him. He is very shy so please DON'T call out for him, or approach. All we need is a sighting to know he is still in the area! around the St. Mary's, or Braemar Dempsy Trail. Gabe joined us in March of this year! We so appreciate him sticking with us throughout all of the unexpected turns we've had! He has such a positive attitude that he brings with him to the job and it really shows in his hard work and dedication to the dogs in such a short time We are so glad to have him on our team!

Now that summer has arrived (finally), we wanted to share some awareness for dogs in the heat to help keep all our furry friends safe! Dogs can't release heat by sweating, as humans do, so their internal body temperature rises more quickly! 6 signs of heatstroke in dogs are... 1. Rapid panting, or the sudden stopping of panting 2. Weakness or lack of coordination ... 3. Bright red tongue 4. Diarrhea or vomiting 5. Rapid or erratic pulse 6. Thick saliva See more

This gorgeous girl is Kira! She is a very intelligent Shilo Shepherd. She knows we are there to pick her up the second we pull into the driveway, and we are greeted with lots of tail wags+kisses! She also loves to run around and play with all of her friends on trail. She is a very loyal girl and once you have a bond with her, it is unbreakable

Skye joined our team in September 2019! She moved to BC two years ago from Ontario where she had lived the majority of her life. Prior to working at NSDW she worked for United airlines, and Nurse Next Door. She appreciates working here because it completely compliments her school schedule. She's currently attending post secondary full time and studying psychology. "Psychology and understanding the mind is my passion and natural instinct." She is such a caring soul and we believe that is why she fits in so well here working with the dogs

One of the best feelings is walking up to a house on pick up, opening the door, and seeing the pup just bursting with excitement for their walk! We are always just as excited to see them as they are to see us! "North Shore Dog Walkers are the best! Stellas excitement level as she waits for her walks is through the roof. The walkers always take great care of her and she comes back exhausted."

This happy guy is Soleil! He has been out on adventures with us for quite some time now! Soleil gets so excited when he knows we are arriving to trail, even from 3 blocks away He loves to make new pals and is so friendly with everyone we pass on trail!

Alice joined our team last year in June 2019. We wanted to know what she liked about working for us and this is what she had to say. "Working for NSDW for the last year has been quite a treat! Not many can say your office is the forest. I love getting to know all the quirks and personalities of each dog."

Did you know that we walk no matter the weather? We love all our walks, rain and shine! We also leave your dog as clean or cleaner than when we pick them up! Please remember to leave out a towel or two for us to ensure maximum cleanliness

This big fluffy guy is Zephyr! He gets so excited for his walk the closer we get to trail. He is a super relaxed guy on trail and enjoys spending his time exploring by his walkers side. We love hanging out with him

This pretty lady is Alysha She has been working for North Shore Dog Walkers for 12 years! She has always enjoyed spending her time outside as she grew up on an acreage in the forest and on the river. Now she is happiest when she is out hiking with her dogs. (Peanut, Enzo, and Louie.)

We look forward to our walks with each and every dog in our schedule! But sometimes walks are forgotten about, or things come up for you last minute. If we show up and your dog isn't home we will leave you a note saying when we were there and that we had to move on to the next home. When you return home to find that note please contact our office. They will work it out with you and try to get your pup in for their scheduled walk if possible!
