Join us on May 27th at 6pm PST for a free, online workshop for women - Authenticity: A Connection With Self, facilitated by Unnati Jhaveri! This workshop aims to change your perspective towards developing a deeper and stronger connection with self. This in turn helps you to deal with situations that come your way, as you will now have the resources and tools to handle them. Training the self to look within for answers is a healthy way to live as you are not dependent on external sources. Understanding self and knowing who you are helps to be the same person in various settings thus living a truthful & authentic life. Register at: https://nswcauthenticity.eventbrite.ca

We are excited to offer two sessions of the Fearless: Teen Girls' Empowerment Camp in the summer of 2021! Led by an experienced youth facilitator, the camp aims to support teen girls in accessing their individual and collective strengths in order to empower themselves and help create social change. Each one-week camp is offered to girls entering grades 8-12, and covers topics like self-esteem, body image, boundary setting in relationships, violence prevention, self-defence, assertiveness, cyber-bullying and leadership skills. Thanks to financial support from the Province of British Columbia, the City of North Vancouver, and North Shore Neighbourhood House, camp is offered free of charge! May 10th is a National Day of Action Against Anti-Asian Racism. According to the Stand With Asians Coalition (SWAC), Vancouver has seen a staggering increase of anti-Asian racism, with an over 700% increase in 2020. A recent federally-funded study reported 1150 cases of racist attacks in Canada last year. Forty percent were reported in Ontario and forty four percent were reported in B.C. Sixty percent of the cases were reported by women. This violence has no place in our community - today, let’s raise awareness and take a stand to combat anti-Asian racism.
