Replacing a panel and adding circuits for a customer who was experiencing nuisance tripping from overloaded circuits, and arcing at the breaker when resetting breakers, I found some safety concerns. First, the main conductors were heavily corroded. Second, most of the original cables insulation were brittle and cracking exposing bare conductor creating an arc hazard, and lastly, many of the circuits were ungrounded cables creating a shock hazard throughout the house. Thankful...ly I was able to find these problems and we are working on fixing or minimizing the hazards.
