The North Toronto Players 16.11.2020

Throwback Thursday from the 2014 NTP production of Patience: "Tonight was the first read-through. Emily, your mezzo voice is rich with tone! Angela, you rock as ....well.... Angela. I loved your interpretation of the dialogue. Lindsay, our Patience, is consistently excellent and nailed all the high notes that I could never reach. David thrilled us as only a tenor can! I am indeed privileged to be with such a talented group." - Janine, November 2013

Thanks to a friendship between a member of St Timothy's, NTP's first stage director and Diana, NTP came into being. Our first costumes were courtesy of St. Anne's, plus ideas, bits for the sets and props. Deepest condolences go to her family, friends and our colleagues at https://www.facebook.com/MADS-St-Annes-Music-And-Drama-Society-118843747583/.

Heartbroken by the ongoing cancellations, we are planning to share rescheduled GTA community theatre performance posts for other groups through our channels. Thanks, Theatre Aurora, for the offer of assistance with ours. We plan to pay it forward. #theaTO #MillionaireTheatre

Message from the North Toronto Players: Despite a successful premiere for 'The Millionaire', the sudden decision by the City of Toronto to close the large majority of their venues, including the Papermill Theatre, has left us without a theatre in which to perform. Sadly, all remaining performances currently scheduled for March 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22 are cancelled. Arrangements are underway to promptly refund ticket purchases. We will provide updates as they become available, including plans for new event dates for 'The Millionaire' once this COVID-19 crisis has abated. Thank-you for your understanding and patience in this matter.

We were informed shortly before the Friday, March 13th show that our opening night would be closing night as The City of Toronto has decided to close the venue due to the ongoing Covid-19 advisories. We will be in touch with our ticket partner and will provide updates as soon as possible to those who purchased tickets. We are grateful for an enthusiastic audience and a standing ovation. It is a marvelous show. We hope to bring it back for others to enjoy at a later date. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Message from the North Toronto Players Despite the COVID-19 outbreak, the efforts led by Toronto Public Health have succeeded in maintaining a LOW RISK of spread in Toronto. Per Public Health guidelines, Papermill Theatre has taken mitigating measures including: 1) accessible antimicrobial solution dispensers for public use;... 2) increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting heavily-touched surfaces; 3) increased frequency of emptying garbage receptacles. The North Toronto Players and theatre staff urge guests to join us in participating in personal risk mitigation practices including: a) frequently wash our hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, focusing between the fingers and on the fingertips and nails; b) avoid touching our own faces or those of others; c) REMAIN HOME if feeling unwell or sick. Given these measures, we are confident that the Papermill Theatre remains a LOW RISK city venue, and that you will have a safe and entertaining theatre experience, joining us for the production of 'The Millionaire'. The NTP executive and Papermill Theatre staff will continue working with Public Health to monitor the ongoing situation, and will update volunteers and patrons of any changes.
