MALE ARRESTED FOR DRIVE WHILE DISQUALIFIED AND WEAPONS RELATED CHARGES - Cobourg Police Services On Tuesday, October 13th, at 12:54 pm, police were on patrol and observed a silver Volkswagon without a front plate driving on Spencer Street, in the Town of Cobourg. As a result, police conducted a traffic stop. Police investigation revealed the driver to be a suspended driver, on probation, with three outstanding warrants with the Durham Regional Police Service.... As a result, 29-year-old William TAIT of Peterborough, Ontario, was arrested. Search incident to arrest found TAIT possession of a collapsible baton and stolen license plates. TAIT was charged with the following offences: Drive Motor Vehicle Fail to Display Two Plates Contrary to Section 7(1)(b)(i) of the Highway Traffic Act Use Plate Not Authorized for Motor Vehicle Contrary to Section 12(1)(d) of the Highway Traffic Act Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming Owner Contrary to Section 11(2) of the Highway Traffic Act Owner Operate Motor Vehicle No Insurance Contrary to Section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act Driving While Under Suspension Contrary to Section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act Operation While Prohibited Contrary to Section 320.18(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada x2 Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Section 94 of the Criminal Code of Canada Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 Contrary to Section 355(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada x3 Fail to Comply with Undertaking Contrary to Section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada x3 Fail to Comply with Probation Order Contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada x6 Possession of Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order Contrary to Section 117.01(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada x2 The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two drivers with stunt driving on November 18, 2020 Shortly after 11:00pm, an officer clocked a vehicle travelling on Highway 115 at 165km/h in a posted 100km/h zone. A Gift of Life Rally took place this evening through Northumberland County. Frontenac OPP met with Northumberland OPP at the Quinte West-Northumberland Boarder. The Gift of Life came from Ottawa, and is on its way to a Toronto area Hospital to give someone the Gift of Life.

Awaiting further update from OPP.... ____________________________________________ BREAKING: 2 Missing in City of Kawartha Lakes The City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is currently seeking the public’s help in locating 52 Y/O Female, and 58 Y/O Male. The pair was last seen on Oct 11, 2020 on Pine Ridge Rd, and left on a Blue Yamaha ATV (Photo of similar attached) around 6:00PM, and have since not returned. Anyone with information pertaining to their whereabouts is asked to call 1-888-310-1122 with any information.

***UPDATE*** Missing 16 Y/O in Tweed, On. OPP in Central Hastings have confirmed the missing 16 Y/O has been found. Unfortunately, was pronounced deceased in hospital after being found after a collision by civilians who joined forces with OPP in finding the missing ATV’r. ... Our thoughts and prayers to the family, and friends of the deceased. We have removed the picture of the 16 Y/O from our post. The family of the deceased are requesting privacy at this time to grieve the loss of there loved one, please respect there wishes at this time. Thank you.

MVC WITH INJURIES - Alnwick/Haldimand Township Shortly after 10 PM on October 11, 2020, emergency services were called to the area of CR-45 & CR-22 for an MVC with injuries. Initial reports indicated that two vehicles traveling in opposite directions collided. Two patients were extricated by Alnwick-Haldimand Fire Department (one single occupant from each vehicle), and transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital with serious injuries. One vehicle was sent 300 M away from the... crash site, into a ditch leaving a debris field. The Ontario Provincial Police - Northumberland Detachment have CR-45 closed in both directions, and traffic is being diverted through Bulls Mill Rd, around the collision scene. A TTCI (Technical Traffic Collision Investigator) has been called in to investigate the cause of the crash. Many different factors could play a part in this collision, and alcohol has not yet been eliminated from that list of factors. It was reported by the Ontario Provincial Police - Northumberland Detachment, that one patient was airlifted by Ornge, to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a trauma center in the Toronto area. Northumberland County Breaking News feed could not confirm. CR-45 is expected to be closed for some time, as investigators put the pieces together as to what caused the collision.
