While lost in the day of the bad news of losing my lovely uncle to COVID, Frodo who was staying for an ultrasound procedure, came to my rescue and comforted me. He is such a passionate cat with great personality. Thank you Frodo

Not regular brushing and yearly professional dental cleaning can result in serious damage to your pets gums and teeth resulting in periodontal disease but also affecting their organs most importantly their heart and kidneys. Brush their teeth every day and make sure they have their annual dental cleaning and check up!

Tips for looking for ticks. Don’t think if weather is getting colder, it means ticks are not out there!

Dr. Medhi is amazing! Found him by accident when our previous vet wasn't willing to help us in an emergency. Our 17 year old cat (who has HATED all veterinarian...s before) nuzzles him during exams and loves that they let him explore the office before his appointment. Most recently, we needed to take our boy to the emergency hospital over a holiday weekend. We waited 3 hours for them to try unsuccessfully to examine his mouth and provide us with a $2500 estimate for testing they said was needed. We paid almost $300 for the "exam" and some medication and immediately phoned Dr. Medhi's office to request a second opinion - they gave us the first appointment the next business day. For a fraction of the cost, were told he is healthy and happy (not so much just then after his second car ride in 3 days) and does not need thousands of dollars in testing as we had been advised. He of course is aging and needs his teeth cleaned, but he is "healthy, handsome...and a little mad at you guys, but not me this time!" HIGHLY recommend this place!

In the light of recent social distancing

Dear Clients, In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are vigilantly responding to changes in order to comply with our local and federal advisories. In order to maintain a safe environment for both our clients as well as our staff - and at the same time be able to care for your pets and their needs - we will be implementing several new measures, effective immediately: 1. Our new hours of operation will be reduced to the following, until further notice:... Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm 2. We will be admitting and discharging patients through drop-offs and pick-ups only, either at the front desk or directly from vehicles. For those patients who require consultations, we ask that no more than one person accompany your pet. 3. We will no longer be accepting walk-ins: we ask that you please call us in advance to either book an appointment or to inform us of any supplies you'd like to purchase (pet food or otherwise) so that we can arrange to have your items ready for you for pick-up. In our efforts to further comply with physical/social distancing advisories, we will not be able to have more than one client in both our exam room or waiting room at a time - therefore, it is imperative that you call in advance for both making appointments as well as purchasing products. 4. We will only be accepting electronic forms of payment that can be processed either at the front reception or over the phone, and will no longer be handling cash. 5. We kindly ask that you inform us of any recent travel. If you are not feeling well, we ask that you arrange another person for the hospital drop-off and pick-up of your pet(s). We believe that implementing these measures is in everyone's best interest and apologize for any inconveniences they may have caused.

Spring is just around the corner and so is the peak season for ticks and fleas! Are you prepared? In BC we are blessed with the great milder winters and greens but these also attract both internal and external parasites. Ticks and flease are around through out the year in west coast but much more active in spring and summer. That means you have to protect your pets as well as yourselves from them all year but more so in spring and summer. Ticks can carry Lyme disease and tran...mission easily happens through the bite of the infected tick which happens to be endemic to BC. Ticks can also transmitt bacteria to human and animals and cause infectuios diseases like Rocky Mountain Fever or Ehrlichiosis to name a few. You can protect your dogs and cats by using products so that the ticks and fleas become inactive and dead once they come in contact with your pets, hence not able to come near you and bite you. There is also Lyme vaccine available for dogs and we strogly recommend vaccination in BC beside using the products. Lyme vaccination prevents the disease in your dogs and the products indirectly prevents you from being exposed to ticks if they jump on your dog. Please make sure to stop by to pick up the produscts and bring in the questions you might have for our veterinarian. Don't forget to ask about the Lyme vaccine specially if you do camping or spend time in trails and woods with your dog. See more
