Last month we had a very successful food drive. Congratulations to co-chairs Joanne Noel Foley and Heather McNeill and the rest of the committee for finding a new way to do things this year. It was a huge success as we collected over 22,000 pounds of food and $7000 in cash and gift cards to help fill the shelves of the food bank of the Salvation Army. Thank you to everyone who generously donated. Also, huge thanks go out to Sobeys and Colemans for being our hosts for this food drive. This is the 37th year for our annual food drive in partnership with PWC High School and The Salvation Army.
Privileged to have @vianne_timmons speaking with us today. Her personal and dynamic speech highlighted the importance of the University’s role in our economy. @MemorialU is in good hands.
As part of our Adopt-A-Village project the seventh shipping container recently arrived at Tshelanyemba Hospital in Zimbabwe. Personal protective equipment, computers, medical, school and community supplies are now being distributed in this remote area of the country assisting so many people. Many thanks to everyone involved. You've made a huge impact on the lives of our friends in Tshelanyemba. A note of gratitude from the hospital administrator on the arrival of the container: We are so very grateful for the wonderful work you continue to do for the hospital and community. The medical equipment and supplies that recently arrived on your container continue to change and save lives in our community especially during this Covid-19 period.
