This weekend's barn sale starts at noon on Friday! Please...no earlybirds for the sale. We'll be working away to get set up and organized to ensure pandemic protocols are followed. https://gsalr.ca/farm-closingmoving-sale-barrie-on-35980219
Pumpkin Sale! We're rapidly approaching our last day here on the farm, and we have a beautiful pumpkin harvest that needs to find their fall/Halloween homes All pumpkins...any size, shape or variety, are now $5!
Even though we're closed until Tuesday, we couldn't let the tomatoes sit in the fields waiting to be picked! There are some tomatoes available by the bushel for anyone wishing to pick up today or tomorrow. Please note that this is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please text 416-820-8816 for pricing and to make arrangements for pickup.
This weekend we got together and harvested all the squash and pumpkins that Doug had planted in the spring. It was such a beautiful day to get this done. Our little helpers had a great time....but I think Poppy and Bandit were a bit tired by the end of it (as were their human companions). Everything you see is now available at the store when we open Tuesday morning!
The pumpkin and squash harvest is starting to come in. We've picked a few, and will be bringing most in towards the end of the month. 8 week old Poppy was visiting today and thinks they're fabulous!!
It's always fun to have a wander through the fields to check out the crops that are coming along. Corn, zucchini, squash, garlic...they're all looking fabulous!
A quick friendly call out to our wonderful customers. We are currently running short on egg cartons, and will gladly accept your returns that are clean and in re-usable condition. This is just another way that we try to reduce, re-use, and recycle here on the farm!
We've been pulling beautiful lettuce off the fields the past few weeks, along with radish, strawberries, peas and green onions. It won't be long before the tomatoes are ready!
We continue to work away at tending the crops, and it is rewarding seeing all of Doug's hard work coming to harvest. We want to thank everyone for their kind words, calls, visits and numerous other gestures these past few weeks. They have all been appreciated.
Northwinds Farm will be closed for Father's Day (Sunday June 21). We apologize for any inconvenience, but we will be taking it as a personal day to spend time together as a family after our recent loss. We look forward to serving you again on Monday.
