Nor’wester Restaurant Update Our original plan was to try to reopen by Monday January 4th but due to no change in COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions placed by the government of Saskatchewan and SHA our new and earliest date will be January 21st. The next review of restrictions will be on January 15th and if the guidelines change to allow us to have patrons sit at least 2m apart, then we will reopen on the 21st. If these restrictions are not changed from the current ...3m to 2m on the 21th then our reopening date will be further pushed back until we can serve our guests at 2m. We hope this day comes sooner than later... Another announcement will come from us after the government’s next review and a plan will develop from their decision. Until then, my heart goes out to those 14 people who are wanting and waiting to return to work . Thank you Tammy

Update to Nor'Wester Restaurant Due to the current situation with COVID-19 and the mandated restrictions placed on us by the Government of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Health Authority, we will be closing the Nor'Wester kitchen and dining room as of Saturday December 5, 2020. Due to the limited capacity for seating, slow business, increased cost of food and lack of provincial and federal support we can no longer sustain a profitable margin. As owners, Dean and I h...ave not made this decision lightly as there are currently 14 staff we now must lay off during this holiday season. The six weeks leading up to the holidays is usually a peak time with gatherings and hosting events for our customers to enjoy. A time where our service staff were able to rely on extra income from gratuities and a time where the business could help support itself during the slow times during the first sixty days of the new year. This is indeed a dire time. Right now, the Milltown Sports Bar, the hotel and off sale are currently unaffected. We will live through this next week to see what the future will bring to the Milltown and then reevaluate our situation at that time. My heartfelt apologies to our staff who have been affected by this decision and please know that we are so grateful for each and every one of you! To the friends and family of these 14 individuals, please reach out to them at this time as they need your support more than ever. Thank you to our community for dining with us, buying gift certificates and spreading the love on social media... it didn't go unnoticed and it all helped! Our tentative re-open date will January 4, 2021. Our course of action at that time will be dictated by government, the SHA and the current regulations. We will be updating our status on social media as changes progress. In the meantime, join us these last few days for your favorite menu item, Janice's homemade pie or the last two wing nights. COVID-19 Restrictions and Implimentations! Here is our update to what to expect starting Friday November 27th: - hand sanitation stations must be used upon entering the building... - masking is also mandatory upon arrival. If you are without, you can purchase one at our front desk for the cost of $1.00. If you are refusing to abide by the Government of Saskatchewan mandate, we kindly ask that you visit us once the restrictions are released. - Contact tracing will be required by each guest/patron that requires table service in both the Nor'Wester restaurant and the Milltown Sports Bar. The information required will be as follows: Name Phone Number Time of Arrival This information is required for contract tracing only and the information sheets are destroyed 28 days from the day of your visit. - Due to the new requirements of 3 meters between seating, we are without 6 tables/20 seats. Please keep in mind that we are continuing a safe, sanitized environment for you to visit us and enjoy a meal and a drink with friends and family. If you are not comfortable with being in our facility, please use our take out option. Our menus are available on our FB page. We are trying to maneuver through a very difficult time and treading between a fine line of distancing and staying home to wanting you to visit us and living a life with all safety precautions. We are fighting to stay open and now being at 25% occupancy is so very damaging. This fight is for all small businesses in our community... so please, as a plea I encourage all of our community to support as much locally as you possible can at this time. Mask mandate alert!!! As of today, the Saskatchewan government has mandated masks to be worn indoors in all public facilities. We are asking you to wear your mask to your table and then it can be removed. As soon as you leave your seat for ANY reason, it must be worn. Just a reminder that table hopping or moving chairs to another table is prohibited. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. Big Shoutout to all of our local small businesses... grinding it out each and everyday! Resilience and determination, these are the characteristics of all small business owners right now. I’m going to be truthful and tell you that they are fearful for tomorrow but are finding new, creative and innovative ways to keep offering their goods and services. Now is the time for our community to take advantage. One small gesture on your part is a WHOLE LOT of gestures together....
