How did the fair come to be? ... Here is a brief history.

Normally we would be setting up our parade route and directing traffic when our MASSIVE parade kicks off at 12. (pre #COVID19 pandemic times) Drop your favourite memories in the comments below! This video is a throwback to last year when Drain Bros. Exc. Ltd. offered to chauffeur our fair boards dignitaries in extreme style! What a wonderful addition these Belgians and carriage were to our parade! Thank you! ...

Saturday morning of Thanksgiving. Norwood Fair grounds are silent as the sun rises during the #COVID19 pandemic. We made the historic choice to cancel our fair on April 5th 2020.

Anyone else feel like they forgot to put on pants this morning? Or left the house without their cellphone? Typically the children of Township of Asphodel-Norwood and Peterborough County are putting the finishing touches on home hobby crafts or polishing garden vegetables! For the final drop off on Friday morning. Not this year. Check in on your family & friends. We are missing all of our fair goers, community service club members and directors this weekend. ... A reminder the Norwood Fair is cancelled this Thanksgiving weekend due to the #COVID19 pandemic.

#COVID19 changed the way we gather this year for our annual #thanksgiving tradition . We may not be together, we won’t have a parade, our grounds will fall quiet instead of being filled with the sights and sounds of our fair. But young Mallory has still found a way to embody the true spirit of thanksgiving and the Norwood Fair. She’s managed to complete an entry at home that she would have normally brought to the grounds for the grand Rice Krispie train compet...ition! One of the kids favourites! So congratulations Mallory on being able to spread joy! Your train looks fantastic!

I’m sure everyone here in the of Township of Asphodel-Norwood is very proud! Chris is a 4th generation chicken farmer and his family donates 700KG of chicken yearly to local food banks like Kawartha Food Share!... Congratulations!
