It can be an uphill battle for people who are trying to navigate their day to day mental health. When mental health is not being talked about, the opportunity to seek appropriate help can become an obstacle, as negative attitudes associated with mental health often hinder the chances of people asking for help in the first place. We, however, have the power to change the way we talk about mental health conditions by humanizing them. If we come from an empathic, understanding ...perspective that encourages awareness and education, we are able to shift the narrative and perception of mental health for individuals suffering in silence or are that are in already in treatment, as well as their families. We are here to bridge that gap between wishing you could ask for help and finding the help that you need. We also help society better understand the struggles faced by some members of their community, for a supportive environment plays an important role in the ability to heal and for people to have a sense of belonging, value, and worth is an essential component of the recovery process. We're looking to create a society of compassion and empathy which will create a lasting, positive improvement towards recovery for those who need it and a healthier and stronger Canada overall.
"The root of insecurity is craving the approval of others. It gives them the power to inflate or deflate our self-esteem. A stable sense of self-worth stems from putting identity above image: worrying less about what others think of us than what we think of ourselves." - Adam Grant Are your social media accounts getting you down? Or worse, are they controlling your life? ... Sometimes happiness is found by simply "Un-Facebooking" yourself. Do you want to learn more about the dangers of social media on our mental health?
