Hey Theatre Folks!
Happy to host Theatre UNB's interview with the cast and playwright of Goblin Market!
NotaBle Acts is saddened to hear of the death of our friend R.M. Vaughan. NB Acts had the pleasure of staging Richard's play One Year After in 2018. Our condolences go out to all his friends and family.
Check out this piece of local theatre history, featuring one of the most important figures in Fredericton theatre.

We're delighted to see how the script has evolved since we last saw it at our 2020 Summer Theatre Festival. Alex Rioux's The Kelpie will be streaming very soon! Don't miss this opportunity to see live New Brunswick theatre!
Tickled that the ten min play that I wrote for Hamilton Fringe Frost Bites Festival four years ago is being revived by the theatre students at the University of... New Brunswick Theatre UNB starting tonight alongside the good company of 8 other short plays for Theatre UNB Presents: Duels and Duets. My play Liatorp was originally performed by real-life couple Mike Rinaldi and Juno Rinaldi, directed by Christopher Stanton. Tonight Liatorp is being directed by the Grand Poobah of Fredericton theatre and excellent playwright in his own right, Len Falkenstein who I had the pleasure of working with when I was Artist in Residence as part of their NotaBle Acts Theatre Festival three years ago. Theatre never stops in NB! Our friends at Theatre New Brunswick have been busy as ever putting on their Fall Festival of New Plays from established and emerging New Brunswick playwrights. Check out the who and what at the link below. Take a look at the 12 fine folks featured this year- do you recognize any familiar faces? Some of these plays were selected for production by NotaBle Acts in the past, and many others are being developed by playwrights who have had works produced by us. We are delighted to see the continued development of New Brunswick Theatre and invite all to come see some of the best and brightest New Brunswick has to offer.
We’re absolutely delighted to see the works of NotaBle Acts affiliates and alumni continue to see the light of the stage. Follow Theatre UNB for regular updates on the show!
If you can't get enough of local theatre, you'll be delighted to hear that we are working together with students from TUNB to bring to life nine fully staged productions of ten minute plays from our associated playwrights. This is your chance to see electrifying, intimate, sometimes hilarious performances from up and coming actors as they take on scripts that are living and breathing on a stage for a second or third time. Be sure to follow Theatre UNB on Facebook for more updates, including info on shows for this season and next!
We are absolutely thrilled to host this exclusive TUNB interview with Anna Chatterton on the upcoming production of her short play Liatorp.
Just over a month ago, NotaBle Acts closed our 19th annual Summer Theatre Festival. It managed to be another resounding success, despite all odds seemingly stacked against it. This season we saw over 14 plays from local playwrights read or produced. As our dramaturg and playwright in residence, Vern Thiessen pointed out, it was quite a strange and hopeful experience to hear the sounds of an audience again after months of a dark stage. In this year of adversity and uncertainty..., we would like to extend our thanks to everyone who came together to make NotaBle Acts possible. Thanks to you, Vern, for providing your invaluable skill and mentorship as a writer and crafter of beautiful theatre. Thanks to all our fine theatre artists who came together with such independence and enthusiasm to bring these scripts to life. Thanks to our wonderful sponsors, funders and in-kind providers: The Province of New Brunswick, Heritage Canada, artsnb, Downtown Fredericton, City of Fredericton Government, UNB Fredericton, Fredericton Tourism - Town Square Social Hub Thanks also to the Multicultural Association of Fredericton Inc., Mi'kmaq-Wolastoqey Centre, and to Theatre New Brunswick for helping make this years festival known and accessible. Of course, thanks to you as well, our loyal audience members, thanks for attending from Barracks Square, TNB, or your couch at home. You've not only helped develop a better future for New Brunswick Theatre, but also our broader community. 25 percent of this years revenue was donated to Black Lives Matter Fredericton and to the Multicultural Association of Fredericton’s Newcomer Scholarship Fund.
See below for an opportunity for playwrights attending university in Fredericton this fall.
