What a fantastic open mic we had last night. Thank you Peter Ramsay for taking off nearly all of your clothing. I mean hosting! Elise VK killed it on the bar. To all the other hosts and bartenders over the years. To Rusty Fern, Rob Sills, Daniel Sky, Chris Harrison Warren McGoey. And anyone I've missed. Great job guys! As we wind down the last days at Not My Dog, I ask for everyone's patience as I expect we will be busier than usual. I'm so thrilled for all the visitors tha...t have been dropping by to pay homage to The Dog one (or several) last time(s). I thought it wise we let you all know who is playing what day, so you can plan your visits accordingly. Please keep in mind the lovely patio has plenty of space as well. Friday 9th-Rob London & The Ragged Saturday 10th-Mick Dj Sir Real Sunday 11th Red Steps Monday 12th Matthew Kane and company Tuesday 13th Thunder Funk Wednesday 14th Open Mic music Thursday 15th Open Mic comedy 6pm-9pm We Are French & Tundra Fun 10pm close Friday 16th Sheldon Holder Band Saturday 17th A-List variety show! We have invited tons of the musicians that have played Not My Dog over the years to come and make some noise. There will be tons of food, but please feel free to bring something to share. We'll call it a potluck-esque hang with music and dancing (veg, vegan, carnivore, & glutard friendly food) bring the whole family during the day. Schedule to come, tunes will run from 2pm until 2am! It is with a great deal of sadness and a very heavy heart that I regret to inform you that, Not My Dog will have it's last day September 17th 2016. It has been an honour to be a part of a place that is so much more than just a bar! Spearheaded by Rusty Fern over a decade ago Not My Dog is one of a kind. It's a greeting place, a 'community centre with a liquor license', a 'living room for all of us.' It's a place where we have made friends that we will have for the rest of ...our lives. It's a place where artists and musicians grew. It's a place where people came together to help those in need. It's a place we fell in love. A place some were married. It's a place we mourned. It's a place we grew. Change is scary, but also exciting. The bar closing makes me very sad, but I know there are great things to come from all of our futures. Keep making friendships, keep spreading good vibes, keep making beautiful music, and hold dear the family we grew here together. Lots of love. Keep tuned to dog page for updates. Who knows what could be around the bend?! As we continue to grow and change as a community, as artists & musicians, as individuals, as the delightful weirdos we all are, I hope to see good things from all of us. I know I will. Cheers!
