Orange Shirt Day began in 2013 as a way to commemorat...e the residential school experience, to witness and honour the healing journey of the survivors and their families, and to commit to the ongoing process of reconciliation. September 30 is a day for survivors to be reaffirmed that they matter, and so do those that have been affected. Every Child Matters, even if they are an adult, from now on. #indigenous #orangeshirtday #indigenouscommunities

"Owning your story is the bravest thing you'll ever do." -Brené Brown The first and the last pictures are about 7 years apart. It feels like I am looking at two different people. From a shy, overweight, unconfident, teen who was full of anxiety to a happy, still anxious mom who is gaining her confidence. My story is about so much more than just losing weight. It's about self-love & never giving up on yourself. I know a lot of people don't feel comfortable in their own skin b...ut I am here to tell you that one day you will! Nutrition plays a BIGGG role in how we feel, and once I understood that it become so much easier for me to make better choices, especially as an emotional eater! Through lots of walking, mindfulness & healthier habits I lost and kept off 60lbs and began to gain confidence in myself. I have found my passion for healthy living & I am so excited to share it with you & your family! From time to time we struggle and that's ok. Since having Ro, I find myself facing many of the same challenges I did when I first began my journey to better health. I know my fellow moms can agree, eating healthy can be a challenge! Often we are rushing to eat whatever we can get on our hands on. Convience rather than nutritional quality is usually what we go for. I am so thankful to have found something to help me get the nutrition I need for nourishing my little Ro. Fruit, veggies, & omega capsules are now part of my daily routine. These capsules bridge the nutritional gaps that I miss in my diet. This makes all the difference in my energy levels, milk supply, & ensures I am getting all the servings of fruits & veggies I need. With so much going on in the world right now, our children are more confused than ever. First, covid is keeping them out of school, away from their friends, and routines. Now, all this violence is all over social media & the news. As an adult it is even hard for me to comprehend the injustice in our world. So how will our children know how to deal with everything going on? What can we do for our children? We can teach them. No one is born with hate, I honestly believe it is ...a learned behaviour. As parents we need to do everything in our power to keep the love alive in our kids. Reading a great way to do just that! Giving you & your child bonding time while you learn together.

BERRY GOODNESS! All ready for the week! If it's not washed & ready to go then I probably won't eat it. Which makes it A LOT more difficult to make healthy choices. Anyone else do this?... Prep is important! And since I LOVE to snack, having all these fresh berries washed & ready to eat saves me from making a not so healthy choice... especially before bed. Soak produce for 10 or so minutes in baking soda or vinegar then rinse. Not only does this give your produce the best clean, it also keeps fresher!
