The United Nations declares March 21 as The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Did you know this Day was first observed in 1966? We...’ve come a long way in half a decade, but there is still a great distance to go in order to eliminate racial discrimination in our communities, our country, indeed in the world in which we live. The NSAA has pledged to foster a more inclusive and equitable apprenticeship system in our province. After careful consideration and in light of the ongoing developments and public health recommendations regarding COVID-19, we regret to announce the 2020 Nova Scotia Skills Competition & Career Showcase events have been cancelled. Over the coming weeks, as the situation continues to evolve, SCNS will collaborate with partners and evaluate if competitions can be rescheduled. We commit to keeping you informed.

Leading up to International Women’s Day, we hosted a group of young women from the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education in our Trades Exhibition Hall as they explored careers in construction. Happy International Women’s Day from the NSCSC!
