Last night, on the way home from movie night, I was feeling really awesome about my choice to bring homemade lentil soup, garden peas and a bunch of fruit kabobs (to share) to bad movie night which has, historically, been a binge session for everyone present. I came prepared and enjoyed myself but, on the way home, I had to stop for gas and a huge craving for salty hit. I picked up several bags before deciding on baked chips as a compromise. Four chips in and I realized I was...n't enjoying them and they weren't worth going over in my carbs for the day, even under the 80/20 rule*. I closed them up and left them on the counter. This morning husband and I both decided they were better off in the trash and I'm not only super proud of both of us but genuinely amazed at it not being some huge effort to "be good" but my body's own desire for the better stuff. #babysteps #onechipatatime #justshowup *80/20: 80% of the time make the best choices for your body, 20% of them time, just live (and have those chips).
