Are you ready to learn how to navigate through the holiday season stress-free? Join us TODAY at 5:30 pm EST!
During this week's live discussion, we will be talking about the approaching holiday season. In addition to it already being a stressful enough time for some individuals, COVID-19 is complicating the season even more this year. Changing holiday traditions is challenging, as is the thought of seeing family members and putting ourselves or others at risk. But to paraphrase a Buddhist saying, Life is difficult, suffering is optional. No one likes to have restrictions imposed o...n them, nor do we like to be told we can’t celebrate with our loved ones, especially when we don’t have a clear line of sight to the return to normal. Nevertheless, spending our time hating it or being anxious about an uncertain future creates suffering. We have the power to change the way we feel instead of allowing our brains to be hijacked by negative thoughts and distressing feelings. See more
Exercising the Power to Create the Holiday Season We Want to Have I am a firm believer in our ability to create the experiences we want to have. I also believe that we are capable of generating positive feelings, including joy, excitement, and love. I still get excited about Christmas and the potential that we have to show our love and commitment to our beliefs, spending time with our family, friends, and community. I love our family's Christmas and holiday traditions and our... ability to maintain them, change them and accommodate family members when necessary. The reality is that COVID-19 is complicating our lives this year. Changing traditions is challenging, as is the thought of seeing family members and putting ourselves or others at risk. It is difficult, but we create suffering when we focus on our feelings, complaint, and worry, instead of putting our creativity into solutions that will provide us with a plan to celebrate safely.
