A friendly reminder! No company or government agency is going to solicit you over the phone. If someone calls claiming your computer is infected, that you owe back taxes and are going to be arrested or any other unsolicited call asking for personal information. Hang up. Don't bother taking note of the number that called because these people spoof numbers and change them frequently. The best course of action is to call your service provider and complain. If enough people do this they may take action.

Please advise everyone you know! I clean computers for a living and yes it's my bread and butter but it sickens me when I have to do work on a PC that one of these low-life scammers has either infected or infiltrated. People PLEASE BE AWARE!!! No one from a major company is going to solicit you with a cold call. If they call you representing "Microsoft, HP, Dell or any other company stating that they've Been notified that your PC is infected, THIS IS A SCAM!!! They are very convincing and will do anything to get you to give them access to your PC. Please hang up. If you have fallen victim to one of these scams, bring your computer in and let us have a look at it.
