Nova Scotia Equalization Fairness 22.11.2020

Father Maroun wanted to let the public know that our MP's are now ignoring the NSEF but we simply will not allow that to continue. The NSEF will continue to hold politicians accountable. 25 years of fighting for fairness and the powers to be will still not meet with us to discuss our thoughts and findings about our contstitutional rights to "Equalization Fairness". Why do you think that is? We will not allow their silence to continue on this issue and either should you, the public.

While we wait to hear back from the Constitutional Rights Center in Toronto, we thought it was fitting to let the public know just who Rocco Galati and the CRC Center are. Rocco is a lawyer for the people and their rights. He is a special person who is willing to challenge government and he is what we need to get justice with regards to Equalization Fairness. We have included a few videos of Rocco in this posting and if you have some time, they are worth a listen. This is f...rom their website: The Constitutional Rights Centre Inc. (CRC) was incorporated, in Ontario, in November, 2004. From 2004 to 2013, it non-publicly, except to lawyers, operated in its development, in assisting and procuring legal counsel, with respect to constitutional cases, where counsel and/or their client, lacked the funds and/or expertise to mount, argue, or appeal a constitutional issue or case. Since 2013 it has, as co-Applicant, also initiated litigation in such cases as the Nadon Reference case, the Mainville Reference case, the challenge to the new Citizenship Act (Bill C-24). Here are some quotes from the Center: The constitution of Canada does not belong either to Parliament, or to the Legislatures; it belongs to the country and it is there that the citizens of the country will find the protection of the rights to which they are entitled. Nova Scotia (A.G.) v. Canada (A.G.) [1951] S.C.R. 31 After all, the Constitution is a document for the people and one of the most important goals of any system of dispute resolution is to serve well those who make use of it. Reference Re Residential Tenancies Act [1996] 1 S.C.R. 186, @ p. 210 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QcJiHaHT6c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZuIKXXtQN0 While we wait to hear from Rocco, we wanted the people who follow the NSEF to know who this amazing man is and why we contacted him. We have waited for over 20 years now to have government officials come to the table and discuss Equalization Fairness with the NSEF, but they refuse. They have left us with no other choice but to go this route. Nova Scotia is receiving over $2.14 billion in equalization and yet they fail to use that funding for the intended purpose. We can not be marginalized any longer so Halifax can grow and grow with funding that is sent to help us year after year. Our high unemployment rates, residential taxes, commercial taxes, poverty, etc. is a direct result of the governments misappropriation of these funds. We need to stand up for ourselves now because our politicians are not.

If we want a future on this island of Cape Breton we need to stand up and be heard.

We have contacted Randy Delorey and Iain Rankin through email and requested a meeting while they are in Sydney but we did not receive a response. We are not sure if Iain Rankin has been here yet. We hope the public remembers this when the card carrying Liberal Party members are expected to vote. Labi was here in the CBRM and we did not have time to reach out to him before he left. We have sent this email to Labi: Hello Labi:... We were sorry we missed you when you were in the CBRM. We would like to have a quick conversation with you about Equalization since Iain Rankin and Randy Delorey have ignored our requests. We did hear you on CBC with Steve Sutherland. Labi, we hope you will entertain the Idea of a quick discussion with the NSEF about economic development and the funding formula to the CBRM and the rest of Cape Breton Island. The general community is aware of our dire situation and as a potential leader of a major political party here in Nova Scotia we hope you will take the opportunity to discuss this with our citizens and followers. Thank you Labi and we look forward to hearing from you soon and we could conduct this meeting over zoom and we would present it to our many followers. We do appreciate your time. Regards, Rev. Dr. Albert Maroun & The Nova Scotians for Equalization Fairness https://www.capebretonpost.com//jim-vibert-ns-liberal-lea/ We sincerely hope that at least one out the three will have a face to face talk about the situation that Cape Breton is in. This should be followed closely by the public.
