On December 10th, 2019, SPCA Enforcement Officers rescued 35 dogs. Not long after, 3 pregnant mamas gave birth to 18 pups bringing the total to 53 puppies and dogs. Bindi was one of the babies. Being the smallest pup, Bindi had an uphill battle. She needed extra care and support to change her story from one of heartbreak to hope. When Melvin arrived at the shelter, SPCA staff were not sure if he would make it. At 4 weeks old, Melvin weighed only 0.4kg! He was dehydrated, starving and covered in lice. Melvin began a brave road to recovery with around-the-clock care. Now that he is healthy, Melvin helps other hurt and homeless pets.
