Nichiren Shoshu Myoshoji Temple 01.02.2021

Since September 7th, we chanted 2 hours of Daimoku everyday leading to today’s completion of 100 Days Shodai Practice. Nichiren Daishonin indicated in the Gosho, "Since, Nichiren and his followers believe in and solidly embrace Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo, they will attain the great gem, the most superior treasure, without even seeking it." Let's continue to chant sincere Daimoku, deepen our faith in the Mystic Law and strive for true happiness for ourselves and others.

Nichiren Daishonin expounds that those who practice True Buddhism will receive the benefit of the purification of the six sense organs (the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind) and when this has been achieved, it is equal to attaining Buddhahood in one's present form, Sokushin Jobutsu. These six sense organs form the window that allows information to enter one's body; if this window is clouded, the correct information cannot be taken in. However, if your six sense organs ...are pure and not clouded, one can correctly recognize and evaluate external phenomena. From this, the correct way of thinking and action are born. Let's continue to put our utmost efforts to chant abundant Daimoku to purify our six sense organs! Please visit our Temple website for June Schedule: https://www.nst-canada.org/monthly-schedule

At the summit of Mount Seicho, surrounded by the Kasagamori Forests, Nichiren Daishonin stood alone, watching as the sun rose above the horizon of the Pacific Ocean. It was the early morning of the twenty-eighth day of the fourth month in the fifth year of Kenji (1253). Facing the rising sun and the entire universe, he began to chant solemnly, "Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo" three times. Nichiren Daishonin declared the establishment of True Buddhism of Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo when he was 32 years old. Let's celebrate and participate in Risshu-e Ceremony from our home together with our Chief Priest, Rev. Nagasawa tomorrow, 4/26 at 10:30am!
